So, What Was The Bottom Line To The Chat Group Security Flub?

I see lefty after lefty after lefty hyping this up for political reasons like some really awful thing. Yes, it was indeed a flub and should be learned from. Took me by surprise that we even have a group chat over a national security thing as important as this was.

But, what was really the bottom line of it all? Did it mess up our attack plans? No.

Did it expose classifed security to our enemies? Doesn't seem to have. As I understand it, the info was accidentally texted to a US reporter and, to the best of my knowledge, he did nothing nefarious with the information which would be traitorous to our country, therefore none of the flub had anything to do with anything detrimental to our country.

Yes, it was careless, just as Hillary Clinton's email server in her basement which could easily be hacked by our enemies was labeled extremely careless.

But, to the best of my knowledge, this is all a huge nothingburger being used as political ammo against Trump that does need to be fixed.
Sure. Had a dem admin done the same thing the same would be done by those on the right. As I've said we live in an era of defending the indefensible. It's just a back and forth thing. As a citizen i enjoy when each side makes these idiotic endeavors. Provides one with alot of laughs.

Now I get it. You're saying you agree with me. This flub was a nothingburger. You could have just liked my post.
It’s a huge deal if MAGA lived by the same standard they wanted Clinton held to.

Hegseth said that anyone doing this would be immediately fired. His words are meaningless.

Clinton isn't locked up.

The Pentagon is making employees take lie detector tests to see who leaked to the press
because giving the press that information can get innocent people killed
But when Sec Def is the one leaking attack plans to the press

Republicans see no problem
because they already know who did it, no need for a lie detector test, and i'm not a republican, but the press took both Reagan and Bush to task because they gave their people lie detector tests to find out who leaked information to the press [everyone passed in both administrations which led to the flushing out of "Vindeman"[sp] types down the road]

Oh….the old
I declassified it with my mind

Hegseth gets to say any classified information he releases is automatically unclassified

Trump has already backed up Hegseth on that one. These people seem to assume everyone is as gullible as their base clearly is.

They tried using the weasel word "intelligence". "There was no classified intelligence shared". Technically true - it's not "intelligence" at all, but it is classified material.

They were talking about classified battle plans against an adversary, not "intelligence from the field", including times, equipment and men to be used. No, that's not "intelligence", but it is most definitely classified. And one of the guys on that that was sitting in his Moscow hotel room while on the chat.

Republicans would be demanding impeachment if a Democrat did this. After Hegseth told Putin that the Ukraine had to give them everything he wants, BEFORE negotiations started, I'm hard pressed to think of any good reason why this unqualified moron shouldn't be fired. "Oops, rookie mistake", was his response to that one.

The bottom line is Trump has hired a bunch of idiots.

Not that you weren't warned...

It wasn't classified information but Democrats just want to play politics.

It's wrong and inexcusable no matter who does it. That's the point. I laugh when it's brushed over by the side that orchestrated it. Oh um nothing to see here.
