Actually Ben, Biden is/was ignored by everybody, including many within his own party. Do you really think he ever really tried to compromise with the GOP? Anyone who believes that is a fool. Almost nobody in the Democratic Party is interested in working with the Republicans, for fear of political retaliation in the next democratic primaries.
Biden's sole approach to the GOP is give me everything I want and nothing for you. He has to, otherwise AOC and the Squad will be all over his ass. The Far Left owns their party, plain as day.

Those republicans that have signed on to the infrastructure bill after meeting with Biden in the White House would probably disagree with you on that.

When a politician talks of unity I'm not taken in by thoughts of his/her acquiescence. I see it as a matter of respecting people, to knock off the sterotypical acquisations against opponents, not censoring opposing opinions, addressing matters objectively without interference of subjective opinions of political opponent, etc.

In a nutshell, I think of it as simply peaceful/respectful coexistence between political factions.
