I'm no friend of Maduro and I'm glad he's gone. All Western countries must tackle and combat this drug problem together. But will the drug problem in Venezuela be solved just because Maduro is gone? I'm really afraid that Russia and China, through the intervention in Venezuela, will rub their hands in glee and feel justified in doing whatever they want in the world. There are many examples of states expropriating foreign companies. Iran, for instance. Did the British develop Iranian oil back then? Yes. Does that mean the Iranian oil belongs to Great Britain? No. Of course, Venezuela could have taken a better approach and tried to reach better compromises. Extracting oil isn't easy and requires technology. But simply going into a country and saying, "We're going to decide what happens to your resources," leaves a bitter taste in the mouths of the world.
