The propose is mostly political. With so many Republicans latching onto the stolen election narrative a primary goal of the committee is to vet out what happened and show that the “stop the steal” movement was based on a known lie. Secondary is to hold people accountable but let’s be honest. People in Washington don’t get held accountable.

IMO Trump should be disqualified from running for office again because of the way he conducted himself when he was POTUS but I seriously doubt any accountability will come from the hearings.
