Grandparents are raising an incredible number of grandchildren now. The father is unknown or in prison, mother is drug addicted or dead from an overdose. Not so many because abortion was unavailable.

My sister in law and husband just adopted their grandchildren. One close to 70 the other one over.

An insult directed at single mothers? Maybe the undiagnosed PTSD that mostly black women endure after being intimidated and bullied into hiring a technician to end the life inside them will end when they aren't forced into abortion.

Being in special education, I see a lot of kids and grandparents in that situation. It is often not optimal. The grandparents get custody of kids that they have been grandparenting, and it is tough to switch gears. Grandparents resent having to go back into parent mode, kids resent the once spoiling Nana and Paw-paw suddenly becoming disciplinarians (or trying to).

But, that seems much better than being drowned in saline solution or torn apart by forceps.

grand parents have been raising grand children for the course of human history ... wars and things of the like have always caused situations where grand parents raised their grand children .
