The bill extends funding for 3 months for FISA which was never a part of the Patriot Act . Apparently, you and many others don't know what the bill is about. It does not reauthorize the Patriot Act. which actually no longer exists.

The Patriot Act does exist, and this bill extended the life of certain provisions of the Act which were set to expire.

The Patriot Act itself was not set to expire, so this bill did not "renew" the Patriot Act.
