SNAP benefits about to be cut off -- and she don't like it

There's just too many Democrats in government. We could straighten out this country with 10 more Republican members in both the House and Senate.
Until the Republicans try their own shutdown...seriously though the Dems have gone way out on a limb.
They can't crawl back without caving. But now it's hitting vulnerable populations..maybe that will get them off their arse

On Maria Bartiromo her congresswoman guest said that "rumor has it" that the shutdown won't end until 11/21/25.

That means that many millions of families won't have any Thanksgiving. Horrible outcome.
and for what? blocking a clean CR?? nuts

Perhaps we need a little DEFLATION to bring down housing costs, etc, so that poor people can afford to live.
things are bad. a recession would help fixed income people since costs would drop. so would everything else though

Racism, poverty, lack of training or skills, the general condition of how badly Trump has fucked up the economy in less than a year.

Take your pick.

Give AI enough time, she'll be joined by a lot of office workers.
So, your explanation of GENERATIONAL welfare is "TRUMP FUCKED UP THE ECONOMY IN LESS THAN A YEAR"?????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

You have to be the dumbest person ever on the innerwebs. :auiqs.jpg: :auiqs.jpg: :auiqs.jpg: :auiqs.jpg:

I never said there aren’t instances where SNAP is warranted, temporarily.

But can you admit that the system is abused, with families on it for decades because they keep having children they can’t afford, and the baby daddies are not made to pitch in?

And can you also admit that there is a terrible sense of entitlement among them? That they get pregnant knowing they can’t afford to feed the ones they have, and just take for granted that taxpayers will just fork over more money?
It's not entitlement as much as it is ignorance and lack of morals, i.e. no personal responsibility.

I think this ^^ is a pipe dream. It would be nice if our reps got off of their butts and started doing what they are paid to do, but after more than a decade of the left acting like toddlers, I don't hold much hope.

It makes me sick that here I am, I've worked 50 plus years paying into these programs, I get forced into early retirement by my wife's medical disability, fucked in life by medical malpractice that is protected by a corrupt court system and I am still LESS ******* "entitled" than these mother ******* parasites?

**** this whole god ******* damned world!

There were hundreds of thousands - maybe millions - who got laid off in 2008-2009, into an 11% unemployment environment, and government workers barely took notice. They kept going out to steakhouses and on expensive vacations, secure that no matter what, THEY are protected.

So now they might have to have a paycheck delayed, it’s a major catastrophe? Too bad. Why didn’t they have savings?

Hey, tell us how "pro-LIfe" you are, Chuzzy.

Oh, wait, that only after they stop being fetuses.

I could unpack a whole lot here, about how your anger is misdirected.

Poor people didn't screw you, rich people did.

But you are here, obediently hating poor people.

Wait, so now you are upset that government workers went on living their lives.
I guess they should have all put on sackcloth and ashes during the Great Recession, (caused by rich bankers) and just stopped enjoying themselves for the duration.

Not sure how that would have helped the economy.

Since Dimwingers are avoiding my educational thread like it's a job.................

Summary

The program activities of most federal agencies are generally funded on an annual basis through the enactment of regular appropriations acts. When those annual appropriations acts are not enacted by the beginning of the fiscal year (October 1), one or more continuing appropriations acts (commonly known as continuing resolutions or CRs) may be enacted to provide temporary funding to continue certain programs and activities until action on the regular appropriations acts is completed.

There are six main features of CRs.

First, CRs have provided funding for certain activities (coverage), which are typically specified with reference to the prior fiscal year's appropriations acts.

Second, CRs provide budget authority for a specified duration of time. This duration may be as short as a single day or as long as the remainder of the fiscal year.

Third, in recent practice, CRs have typically provided funds based on an overall funding rate rather than in specified amounts.

Fourth, the use of budget authority provided in the CR has been prohibited for new activities not funded in the previous fiscal year.

Fifth, the duration and amount of funds in the CR, and purposes for which they may be used for specified activities, may be adjusted through anomalies.

Sixth, legislative provisions—which create, amend, or extend other laws—have been included in some instances.

SNAP benefits are about to run out. And she don't like it.
Reparations! Reparations!

Don't try to stand in her way, her cousin will mess you up. She is getting her stuff.

If there are food riots this will be 100% on the Democrats for refusing to compromise.

It's going to be interesting!

Current Government Shutdown Analysis

Key Details
The government shutdown is now in its 27th day, triggered by a budget deadlock between Republicans and Democrats. As of October 28, 2025, the situation remains critical with several significant impacts:

Major Challenges

1. Political Stalemate
  • Republicans and Democrats remain at an impasse
  • Disagreements center on:
- Health care subsidies
- Affordable Care Act (ACA) tax credits
- Federal spending levels

2. Widespread Consequences
  • Approximately 750,000 federal employees on unpaid leave
  • 47 states warning about potential SNAP benefit interruptions
  • World Central Kitchen distributing meals to federal workers
  • Critical programs facing funding challenges

Potential Resolution Paths
1. Short-Term Continuing Resolution (CR)
  • Senate expected to return and negotiate
  • Unions calling for a clean CR
  • Pressure mounting to end the shutdown

2. Key Negotiation Points
  • Extending ACA tax credits
  • Protecting federal worker pay
  • Maintaining essential government services

Economic Impact
  • Estimated billions in economic losses
  • Small businesses severely affected
  • Potential long-term economic disruption

Prediction
Most likely scenario: A compromise continuing resolution will be passed within the next 1-2 weeks, driven by:
  • Increasing public pressure
  • Economic strain
  • Humanitarian concerns for federal workers

The shutdown represents a complex political standoff with significant real-world consequences for millions of Americans.

Thune needs to go nuclear for CRs, Appropriations, and Rescissions, otherwise the BBB agenda is dead.

Ok, how much do you suggest employers be required to pay people so that they can survive as well as when on welfare?
Especially when they trade their thousands of EBT funds for Carnival cruises.
