The Grocerycrats are more or less responsible for Donald Trump's victory. Yes there were contributing issues but none that even come close. At this point there is still no relief in sight.
A slower rate of inflation is fucking meaningless.
What needs to be done is a reversal not a slower rise. This can easily be accomplished by loosening regulations, lowering transportation costs and supporting greater scale. Believe it or not the SNAP program actually encourages scale that lowers prices for everyone.

Trump has a very small window here to act on it
If not he will be obliterated in the mid terms
Let's see if Hakeem is smart enough to get off his retarded identity politics schtick that just got flushed and start working on real solutions for real people. This is not hard.

I've seen at least one study that concluded that increases in SNAP benefits increases overall prices slightly but not significantly.

Anyway, Trump will get toasted in the midterms regardless of what he does. The GOP margins are too slim to hold.

SNAP is help fer the hungry and the farmers.

Trump addressed this issue months ago and stated that he will be driving food prices down, and to expect it to take about a year to get it done. Hang in there.

Yes....8 months to a year is about right.....

Depends....in areas that cater to high end probably does cause a small increase.
However in middle to low income suppliers
The additional bull buy allows both farmer and grocer to offer scale pricing.

US Inflation Rate today is at 2.75%, compared to 2.60% last month and 3.14% last year. This is lower than the long term average of 3.28%.

After Trump deports the immigrants that work in the food chain and puts tariffs on imports, what will the excuses be if inflation is higher in 2 years than it is today?

Dude, he said they would go down immediately, "take about a year".

Get outta here with those lies.

This article suggests every 1% increase in bennies increases prices by 0.8% https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/abs/pii/S0047272722001621

I have seen other studies but to me they don't wall off the data enough to just SNAP to be reliable.

I suppose around the margins, cutting benefits could increase shoplifting which would then be passed onto consumers via higher prices as well.

Either way, the effects seem to be marginal. I don't begrudge people food. I just don't see it is an economics issue. For me, it is a moral one. There are certainly far worse things we piss away government money on than feeding people.

You`re calling for socialism and I`m okay with that. Which regulations do you think need to be loosened?
