Since it Keeps Coming Up...

FYI:

  • NO, not all teachers are liberals.
  • NO, there is no vetting of prospective teachers for liberal political views.
  • NO, conservative teachers do not "keep their mouths shut" for fear of repercussions.
  • NO, unions do NOT order, influence, or demand any particular teaching topics or approaches to individual teachers.
  • NO, local school districts do NOT take their marching orders from the federal government.

More to come...
Which school are you so well acquainted with?

This is true. Having said that, a student fully up to speed on science, math, writing, and civics is excellently placed to go onto a vocational programs, yes? What we need to do is invest 10X into those post K-12 vocational/trade school programs and better link them to the high schools with the same focus and networking to ease the transition.

That's already the case.

..

So how did this universal expertise you gained by being one teacher in one school not also come to me?

The many schools in many places I have taught at for many years. What did you say that you felt was dismissed?

Be careful there, you are destroying all the right-wing talking points...not that the anti-education right will believe you anyway.

Damn it, they heard different on Fox News and if you can't believe them who can you believe!

Never mind. Your mind is made up.

Clearly we need to just believe what you tell us and ignore the lies of our iwn eyes and ears.

Sir, you are teacher in one district. That doesn't make you the only authority on what is happening today in public schools.

I am also a public school teacher and yet on this thread you dismiss what I say without discussing it at all. This is a debate forum, not one of your lectures.

Dude, this whole thread is you whining.

Boohoohoo, ordinary people misunderstand the awesomeness of teachers!

Doesnt fool me.
I see you've figured him out.

Now he'll insult, deflect, make no-content posts, quote himself, and postwhore.

Look at any peer reviewed article on whether education leans left and they all say that it does.

Moreover, look at how K through 12 operate. We see children incited to protest such things as guns and climate change, but never any controversial topics that are conservative, like the massive spending being done in government that will bankrupt their generation. Could you imagine high schoolers protesting abortion, for example? The heads of Left wingers would literally explode if they did, yet the Left can do as they please with these children.

Just look at this high schooler who refused to protest guns. He was told he either had to protest on school hours with the other kids or go to study hall. Instead, he sat in science class where he was supposed to be, and they then proceeded to expel him, and all on taxpayers money.

And what of the gender cult being taught in schools?

Gender confusion is up 4000% among kids due to it being pumped in the media and the schools in various ways.

You even have issues with teachers not telling parents that they use new pronouns and identify as another gender.

Students participate in walk outs because they get out of class. I was still teaching when this happened 7 years ago. The students freely volunteered they were going to participate only because they got out of class and that they did not believe in the cause of the protest. These are high school students you know!

That student refused to do as instructed and be in a supervised setting. The school could assign a teacher to watch over them individually and then who would supervise the students in the walk-out? If something happened to that unsupervised student, they could be sued. Look up the term in loco parentis if you want a better understanding.

Did you also note the date was 7 years ago? Whose side are you on the kid or the teachers? This happened in Florida and they don't play.

If education does not lean left, how then can universities defend all minorities and expel any student who threatens minorities, only to allow their students to chase Jews into attics at these major universities and talk about genocide with impunity?

In fact, how can any sane normal person with any level of morality allow it?

Yet, here we are.

College students are there voluntarily. They can vote with their feet if they don't like liberalism. My university was recently ranked as the 2nd most conservative school in the country.

Besides, what has the Trump administration done to stem this issue? Seems to me they have been pretty effective recently.

We have all been through the system and know it leans left.

That is the funny part here.

But many have not been exposed to how much more Left wing it is, with the gender cult and climate cult and DEI cult in the mix today.

And if allowed to continue, it will just get worse.
So now you speak for everyone? My school systems were all very conservative from 1st grade through graduate school, so does my opinion negate yours?

Never saw any of that in my school, my kids schools, or my grandkids school.

Please avoid blanket statements that education critics tend to use.
