Since it Keeps Coming Up...

Correct, they are less concerned bout the viability of training in schools that will get them jobs than they are allowing students to take in insane amounts of debt for a degree that they will use to get a job working a McDonalds.
Bullshit.

Yes.

Again, pretty much everyone has been through the system and seen how left wing it was, and sees youth today go through it as they talk about it and as stories like the ones, I provided talk about it, yet you refuse to see?

Why?

It's like trying to convince people that Joe Biden does not really have dementia after the Joe Biden debate with Trump

Sheer insanity.

But who cares because the state control everything and continues not to reverse course, even with Trump in power.
I am not seeing that the bias within a school system can't run both ways. Like I said, depends on location. College professors are a diverse group of people. Yes, the educated do swing left, look at any polling. But there are certainly right leaning professors at even the most liberal universities.

We have all been through the system and know it leans left.

That is the funny part here.

But many have not been exposed to how much more Left wing it is, with the gender cult and climate cult and DEI cult in the mix today.

And if allowed to continue, it will just get worse.

Almost thirty years ago, I had a teacher who was an outright Marxist.

... as stories like the ones, I provided talk about it, yet you refuse to see?
...

"Stories" :rolleyes:

"Refuse to see" from someone who hasn't "seen" anything in - how many decades?

I would submit it depends on the school district. Our school district definitely did. It showed off by showing how many went to Ivy League and Tier One Research universities every year. And thats what the parents wanted, else we would have fired the Board.

A blue state doesn't mean every city and town in the state is blue.

"Almost thirty years ago."

That is the "proof" so many here base declarations about what every public school is like "today." I doubt many really remember 30 years ago with real clarity.

But it doesn't matter...because Unk can outlast ANYONE. This is how he has made twenty-seven posts per day, 365 DAYS A YEAR, every day for MORE THAN FOURTEEN YEARS! His entire existence is defecating on this site.

Your straw man died last year. I'm simply noting that teachers being leftists is NOT new.

And your entire existence is your obsession with me. Creepy.

He was never here. I have seen dozens and dozens of such posts. When called on it, we come back to never having taught, never having set foot in a school in decades, or "well, the kid gave me the wrong change at 7/11!"

I believe that depends on your location. I am as liberal as they come but I live in one of the reddest districts in the country. I keep my mouth shut at work and in my professional interactions.
But shouldnt you avoid politics at work even in a blue district? No matter how blue there would always be some red folk there.
And the local school district? I will never forget middle school orientation for my oldest son, parents were invited in and the principal gave a speech that sounded damn close to a Republican stump speech. It was horrible, and insulting. Needless to say, that "orientation" kept me on my toes. In the end, you can complain about school bias all you want, at some point, parents have to take responsibility and adapt counter measures.
Interesting.

I believe you, not doubting you at all But could you give examples?

Many of the standard American values like honoring individual effort and judging people by merit, not the color of their skin might sound like Republican talking points today.

This is true. Having said that, a student fully up to speed on science, math, writing, and civics is excellently placed to go onto a vocational programs, yes? What we need to do is invest 10X into those post K-12 vocational/trade school programs and better link them to the high schools with the same focus and networking to ease the transition.

When? When was the last time you observed a class in a public school in person?
Sir, you are teacher in one district. That doesn't make you the only authority on what is happening today in public schools.

I am also a public school teacher and yet on this thread you dismiss what I say without discussing it at all. This is a debate forum, not one of your lectures.

So how did this universal expertise you gained by being one teacher in one school not also come to me?
