You get what you pay for. They pay high taxes and get cradle to grave care. Happiness is not correlated to tax rates. In actuality there is an inverse relationship - the higher a countries taxes the happier it is. Not because of taxes, but because of what the taxes lead to.

They may be happier because they don't have a group like the left that constantly denigrates their own country and tells them how bad it is. That type of negative rhetoric takes a toll, even if untrue.

The are healthier because they eat better and excercise. Americans are generally spoiled and have a plethora of food choices and thanks to Democrats, many can sit at home and watch soap operas all day.

Better outcomes are due to being healthier in general, not because of their socialized medicine. The US has the best, most sophisticated health care in the world. I know you folks live and die by the WHO, but they are as biased as they come. The WHO officers would come to the US for specificized treatment if necessary.

The bottom line is that many in the US, particularly Democrats, are spoiled rotten and don't have a clue just how good they have it thanks to rhetoric like yours.

All those places are free and have liberty. They lack the liberty to bring a gun into a school and shoot it up but that isn't a great trade off. They have lower infant mortality, lower maternal mortality, universal healthcare and day care, fewer kids in poverty, funding for college. Happier and healthier people. More vacation. More disposable income at the worker level.
