Should the USA allow Greenland to become a territory after it declares freedom from Denmark?

It would be very wise for Greenland to partner up with the United States because if not they will forcibly be partnered up either with Russia or China.
Greenland is part of Denmark. Denmark is part of NATO. Already partnered up with the US. As crazy as Putin is, I don't think he's crazy enough to attack a NATO country.

With US combat units and aircraft already there.

We have wanted to enlarge that base for years... now with space force and a war in Ukraine and war brewing in Asia we need a larger strategic airbase in Greenland than we have today...
Obama spoke of enlarging the base but since he was all talk that's all we got.... talk....
Those things can be negotiated. They don’t require annexation.

I never heard Trump say annexation have you?... everything has to be a voluntary act involving Greenland... no force and no annexation... The people of Greenland are not 100% opposed to a more working relationship with the USA... more trade and more security in a dangerous world.... in fact I'm sure they would love a second US base or to enlarge the one we have... it creates lots of jobs and has a world class hospital....

His pitch had a “I’d hate to see anything bad happen tone” and is reminiscent of others who’ve said they required land for national security, both this century and the last.

Greenland would be a tremendously advantageous strategic acquisition.

Fisheries, minerals, energy, being able to put a base there.

Lots of good reasons for Greenland to become a territory like US VIRGIN ISLANDS, GUAM, Samoa, PR…

Greenland is not gonna succeed? from Denmark.

The obvious solution if for both Denmark and the U.S. to encourage the Inuits of Greenland (or more properly Kalaallit Nunaat) to vote or have a council of tribal elders meeting, or however they traditionally make decisions and let them decide:

a) Continue to be owned by a European power
b) Be turned over to their fellow Americans in the United States, who also broke away from the yoke of European colonialism
or
c) Be completely independent of the U.S. and Europe and self-govern.

Prior to the election, or council, there can be a televised debate with Donald Trump, Mette Frederiksen, and some representative of the native peoples of that island. Each can pitch what they feel is best for the people and the people can decide.

Greenland has as much right to avoid becoming part of a larger nation as Ukraine and Taiwan do. Also, youi are forgetting about Denmark. Denmark has said that Greenland is not for sale. Denmark is part of NATO. A war with Denmark over Greenland would cause Trump, and consequently the United States an enormous amount of trouble. Trump can get away with bullying poor little Panama. He can't do that with Denmark, Canada, or both.

Trump lacks the cult following internationally that he has in the United States. For most of the world he embodies the Ugly American: they see him as brash, arrogant, ignorant, and vulgar.
I hate to break this to you, Hector but the rest of the world sees Donald Trump as a leader. They may not like him but they do respect him. They understand that a strong America makes the world safer.

With the advent of a militarized space race and now war in Ukraine Greenland is a national security issue....

Greenland isn't actually part of Denmark and in two years are going to have a referendum to separate

Every one of those 60,000 people will be very wealthy if we make Greenland a territory 👍🏼

Leave Mexico
Admit Greenland and Alberta as states
Maybe we can trade Canada, California, Seattle and Washington for their "fly over Provinces"? The average American is tired of the liberal West Coast and average Canadian from the middle of Canada is tired of being controlled by the liberal elites in the East! A straight up trade and everyone is happy!

And a reminder, its a separate country. Are the MAGAs suddenly wanting to become Russia and invade another country? I missed that promise in the Trump Harris debate.
Greenland will join us willingly....who are we going to attack?🤔

The New Puerco Rico
Not really Puerto Rico is like a mismanaged client state.... With Greenland it will be pure benefit for the people of Greenland and for the people of the United States 👍🏼

If Greenland did vote to join the U.S., would Denmark have the right to attack Greenland to bring it back under European domination? Would the U.S. have the right to come to the aid of our fellow Americans?
