Should the U.S. eliminate the free-market economy and replace it with a government-managed system?

Sure. . . . If it wants more of the type of tent cities, shit on the streets, opium epidemics, rampant gun crime and homelessness we see everywhere like we do out in CA and in big gov. controlled enclaves.

I will let you know when we actually have a free-market economy.

Some economies are freer than others, but by virtually any reasonable standard, we hae a free-market economy.

Sure. . . .

I knew you'd support it. Do you prefer communism wherein everything is owned by the government or do you prefer a fascist system where people still own private property and businesses, but the government tells them how much they can charge, etc.?

At least some conclude that a lot of socialist countries have freer markets than the US which sits at 12, 5 points worse than those freedom hating brits Country Rankings: World & Global Economy Rankings on Economic Freedom

I'm not sure how they compile that list, but I'll take their word for it. I don't know if the Brits have more economic freedom than Americans, but I do know a Brit can be jailed for saying mean things.

Austerity paying off combined with reforms focused on preparing for brexit mostly. They have a very strong financial services sector at least for now.
