Trump pardoned Charles Kushner
The Constitution doesn't put limits on the President's ability to give pardons, so they can pardon whoever they want.
The Kushners owned a building on Fifth Avenue just down the street from Trump Tower. And he was not only guilty as sin, he is a real scumbag asshole.
And possibly our next ambassador to France...
witch hunter pardons?A pardon means you did the wrongdoing but don’t have to pay for it
Thinkers said Hunter was an addict criminal
Lib loons wailed No and Russian disinformation
His daddy big guy Joe Just Confirmed what thinkers said all along
Any of the witch hunters he pardons CONFIRMS it was a witch hunt
It's a ridiculous system. Why should the president be able to pardon people for no reason at all? There's just no oversight of the system at all, it's so open to abuse it's incredible.
Trump pardoned his son-in-law's father.Would Trump have? I must admit that I think that Trump probably would have, but I'm pretty sure that that's an unfair advantage?
He didn't. The Republican Supreme Court did.Yeah but I honestly don't think that he even remembers saying that.
It's privilege and power I would not mind being revoked.
Another way to say it, "Depends on the Situation."You should of had another option that says it depends. If they suffered false charges, yes. But also no on the ground of conflict of interest.
Persecution prosecutions aka witch hunts are unlawfulwitch hunter pardons?
Is witch hunting a crime?
Trump did pardon Jared's dad who was convicted of voter fraud and was a felon and is now an ambassador...Would Trump have? I must admit that I think that Trump probably would have, but I'm pretty sure that that's an unfair advantage?
Yer , "what if" is absurd.Yes.
The power of the pardon is absolute. And it needs to be.
The democrat filth went after all of Trumps friends and many of his supporters. What if they had convicted barron or tiffany for some garbage they made up?
Every president on both sides would be instantly compromised. The power of the pardon MUST remain absolute!
Well the Constitution is the Supreme law, and most State Constitutions give the same power to Governors. What about nobody being above the law though?
Was he on the FBI's Ten Most Wanted list?Trump did pardon Jared's dad who was convicted of voter fraud and was a felon and is now an ambassador...
When & how?Even though it has the potential to be abused, it is a power that the people have granted to their elected leaders, to exercise at their discretion.
Yer , "what if" is absurd.
When the Constitutions are ratified, of course. The "how" is the language incorporated into the Constitutions (State and Federal)When & how?
Well the Constitution is the Supreme law, and most State Constitutions give the same power to Governors.
So to that extent, Chief executives do sit above the law, in the sense that they have the power to over-rule the courts in those cases.
Even though it has the potential to be abused, it is a power that the people have granted to their elected leaders, to exercise at their discretion.
And it has also been exercised to rectify miscarriages of justice, or just to show mercy to someone who is repentant of their crimes.
Like everything else in our system, it's not perfect, but it is part of the checks and balances that exist within the construct of government.
Agree. It serves a purpose to check the courts, and until someone comes up with a better way, it should be left alone. It needs to stay the way it is.
