There is no evidence that Jordan "gave" the West Bank to Israel. It wasn't theirs to give away.

Jordan transfered all negotiating rights over the West Bank to the Palestinians in 1988.

"Until 1974, Jordan demanded the restoration of its control over the West Bank.[17] In 1988, Jordan's King Hussein announced "full legal and administrative disengagement from the West Bank."[18] On 28 July 1988, King Hussein announced the cessation of a $1.3 billion development program for the West Bank. Over the next few days, he formally dissolved Parliament, ending West Bank representation in the legislature, and severed all administrative and legal ties with the West Bank"

"On July 31, 1988, Jordan ceded its claims to the West Bank — with the exception of guardianship over the Muslim Holy Sites of Jerusalem — Recognizing the Palestine Liberation Organization, as "the sole legitimate representative of the Palestinian people"

You asked for evidence, I gave you evidence, now you disregard it like a little whiny girl.

How mature you are not.

I look forward to Israel withdrawing to the barrier. You?

You will have to look up from the bowels of HELL as it wont happen in your lifetime

I'd say Israel will do what is best for Israel - hopefully with the acquiescence and cooperation of her neighbors - and all here on both sides of the fence will just have to accept it.

That is the key to this conflict, acceptance, without Justice and International recognition, you'll have nothing.

The Wall should be destroyed after a peace deal, along with the Bantustans.

If peace talks with Palestine fail, should Israel just withdraw to the Separation Barrier while maintaining a military presence along the Jordanian border in the Jordan Valley?

If Israel does this they can claim before any criminal or other international court Palestine might take them before, that they have withdrawn from all Occupied Territories up to a point where security demands an Israeli presence until a final peace treaty is reached ..

(which does actually comply with UN resolution 242 which requires Israel to withdraw from "lands" Occupied since 1967 and for all states to recognize Israel within secure and defensable borders).

And many throughout the world would accept that reasoning, as only 8.5% of the West Bank would remain under Israel control, meaning 91.5% of Arab Palestine (the West Bank) and all of Gaza would be free to become an independent State of Palestine, and that's a pretty damn good deal in the absence of a formal peace treaty.

Abbas Shuts Down the Peace Process « Commentary Magazine

Abbas demands 67 Borders which were never accepted before, Israelis having no rights to E. Jerusalem where their most sacred Religious Sites are and " Right of Return" which would eventually eliminate the Jewish State, you moron.

You talk about what Israel has to do. What are the Palestinians offering to " negotiate?" :cuckoo:

Israel flag in Judea

The Legal Grounds group, which campaigns for Israel’s rights to Judea and Samaria, presented its case at the Knesset Sunday. The session was held to explore ways for Israel to respond to international delegitimization and boycotts.

Dr. Harel Arnon, world-renowned lawyer and co-author of Land Laws and International Law in Judea and Samaria, spoke on behalf of the Legal Grounds Coalition, which is comprised of prominent Zionist organizations and leaders in Israel, the U.S. and Canada.

"If you repeat a lie often enough, it becomes the truth,” said Arnon. “One of the biggest lies, which is feeding the wild incitement campaign that Israel has been dealing with over the last few years, is that Israel is unlawfully occupying Judea and Samaria, and that the presence of the settlements and of Israelis in Judea and Samaria is a violation of international law. I want to confront and refute the accusation that Israel is unlawfully occupying Judea and Samaria."

Arnon went on to discuss the common misconception that in 1967, when Israel took control of Judea and Samaria, the Kingdom of Jordan had legal jurisdiction over the territory. This misconception led to the public perception the Jordanian territory later became, de facto, ‘Palestinian territory.’ In fact, he asserted, it was Jordan that contravened international law, when it had annexed the area. In any case, Israel took the land during a defensive war, which makes its own actions legal.

Arnon concluded with a statement that the settlements are not illegal, and all the injunctions and restrictions normally placed on an occupying nation are not relevant to Israel’s connection to Judea and Samaria.

And the people who have lost their homes and farms due to land theft for these settlements? What rights do they have? You don't fix a wrong by perpetrating yet more wrongs. "Legal" - if indeed it is (debatable) does not equal ethical.

It is illegal under Israeli law to confiscate private land in the West Bank and turn it into civilian settlements.

The Supreme Court declared the illegality of this practise in 1978 and since then Israel has used new and more disgusting tactics to steal land.

Under the Geneva Conventions, many of the settlements are built on stolen land.

That makes those settlements illegal.

Well hells bells Goober. It should be easy enough to get a good Jewish lawyer and sue the bastards. Maybe you can stop them from building those 1,400 new settlement homes this year.

Israel doesn't care about international law. That's why they continue to steal Arab land, give illegal settlments retro-active legality, and kick Arabs off their land.

What Israel needs is sanctions against their settlement crimes.

Boo hoo!
Once again, show me where God commands the Jews to allow homicidal/suicidal murderers in their midst.

Speaking of which...Which history books do you consider to be valid?

This is about politics, not "god".

God is welcome to become relevent to this issue when he shows his face and participates in peace negotiations.

Nahhhhh...

They need more concrete, lumber, drywall and furniture, for new settlement homes...

Oh, and lots of pre-fab concrete blocks, mortar, etc., for more Barrier Wall extensions...

The barrier, at its current path, only keeps 8.5% of the West Bank.

So I advise Israel to quickly finish their barrier and then run..run to it like the wind.

Yer a funny guy, Vic... a little nuts, but a funny guy... good for loads of laughs.

In between IDF sorties, they let the Junior Girl Scouts of Caesarea have a crack at 'em, for a respite.

Why do you think they built this thing so close to the Israeli border?

Its going to be their new border. They will withdraw all Jews east of it.

Trust me. They are tired of having tens of thousands of troops in the WB.

They want to finally pull back to a defensable and modest border.

More like securing their now-expanded base in anticipation of the next outward push towards the Jordanian border, to begin shortly, I expect, where they will build new walls along the way, creeping towards the Jordanian borders a few miles at a time, a decade at a time... slow-and-steady wins the race.
