Universal suffrage was a mistake. It should have been limited to property owners exclusively.

However, since we have this idea about every citizen getting a vote, I'm more and more convinced some kind of corporate system in the answer, where everyone gets one vote, but multiple shares or votes can be bought. It would make people put their money where their mouth is. We already a have system where money talks, might as well cut out the middle man.
