I am writing a research paper on whether or not English should be the official language of the United States. I have provided a link to the survey I created to record answers for my research paper. Your name will remain anonymous. Thanks! English as an Official Language Survey

It already is, unofficially. :D

Everything is in English already, so what's the real issue?

Or are you asking if we should ban other languages from being used, written, and read?

Have you ever tried disaster management when no one speaks the same language?

All government business - ALL - should be conducted in English.

I don't care what the private sector does. That's their business, and theirs alone.

Apparently, it already is.

An official language is a language that is given a special legal status in a particular country, state, or other jurisdiction. Typically a country's official language refers to the language used within government (e.g., courts, parliament, administration).[1] Since "the means of expression of a people cannot be changed by any law",[2] the term "official language" does not typically refer to the language used by a people or country, but by its government.[3]
