Zone1 Should Christians make an effort to understand and learn from Jewish dietary restrictions?

Is he your source of all knowledge?

The REAL truth is, you shouldn't be eating meat. It is a sin. God doesn't yet strike you dead over it in this life because "of the hardness of your hearts," And He understands this world has chosen blindness.

But He specifically DEAMANDS that Man -- not the Jews only -- don't eat the forbidden foods.

Some meat is fine ... but two or three servings each of four meals a day is excessive ... even "healthy" meats ...

We have a dietary need for vegetable fats ... most all animals do ... but if we eat the animal, this fat is already used up and is actually kinda bad for us ... Carl is right, NOT eating meat is best, but God allows some meat in our diets ... meat from the more peaceful and gentle of animals; like cows, chickens and scaled fish ... and Bambi's mother ... yeah, we are what we eat so we need to be more peaceful and gentle, so these are the animals we should be eating ...

Good/bad cholesterol is closely related to this ...

Do a Bible Study on this and you will find EVERY TIME God give a dietary command, or blessing, it is PLANT BASED. Every time, from the Garden of Eden to the manna given to Israel, to the choices made by God's true prophets, to the apostles.

I am a sinner ... I plan my shopping trips specifically to drive by Red Lobster and have a "moment of weakness" and indulge in forbidden flesh ... just not very often ... it's an extra 150 miles out of my way ...

I think that non Jews should adopt and adhere to Jewish dietary laws. Not for any theological reason, but a financial one - more consumers consuming kosher food will push more brands to become kosher. This will both expand the market and drive down prices.

Again, I don't.

Of course it is. What makes you think it isn't?

Maybe after he responds, depending on his reply, but I'd call it a discussion and not an argument.

You don't have the answer you want ... tough shit ... are you going to lie and say I've not answered your question? ... Dekster's not going to respond ... and you know it ...

You're wrong ... dietary laws are still in effect ... to say otherwise makes you least in Heaven ... try to humble yourself ...

You don't have the answer you want ...
You're correct - still haven't heard from Dexter.
... are you going to lie and say I've not answered your question? ...
No. I honestly don't see where you've pointed out where Peter was informed before his vision.

Can't be wrong because I agree with you - at least as far as scripture is concerned.

While I agree with not eating pork or other flesh that the bible said is unclean.... why not honor God's perfect will, which is made clear in the beginning (Genesis 1:29) and the end, when God restores that initial Edenic world of peace and harmony among all creation? (Isaiah 11:6-9) And that of course is to not eat any animals at all.

Not to mention that throughout the bible, there are tons and tons and tons of scriptures on mercy, and mercy is something that applies to those under our power. We have power over the animals, which means that we have the perfect opportunity every day to obey God's command to be merciful and honor His perfect will and true intent... in the same way that God is merciful toward us.

This is one topic that I've to come to firmly realize that 95% of Christians have gotten completely wrong. Upside-down, even.
