Like catholic courts or Jewish courts. The difference between those courts and sharia courts is that eventually sharia courts want to replace civil and criminal courts. They want Islamic law extended over the whole including infidels.They operate in the US too, but not legally.
Sharia councils exist to provide guidance and religious advice, particularly on family law matters, and operate within the bounds of civil law. But no authority etc.. in a court of law, you thick ****.
