I have been saying it for years. When Brady was "owning Manning" early on the Brady fans (who can all be summed up in Colin Cowherd) they never brought up the fact that the Pats defenses in those years were elite. Some of the greatest talent in the league with Belichick who is regarded as one of the best defensive schemers ever.
Yes, the Broncos OL was also in a shambles. Brady, with Edelman Amendola and Gronk had not lost since 2014 against the Chiefs.
Yes, in their first meeting this year in the snow with out Edelman and Amendola and with out Gronk at the end of the game he threw 3 TD passes. Had a better game.
Brady buttscrubbers are funny. Especially an asshole like Colon Cowturd.
Brady stills owns Peyton manning. I hoping the Broncos win for Manning's sake
I think the point is if Manning had Belichicks defense in the early 2000s then Manning would have "owned Brady."
Most Brady fans see what it is now when the championship caliber defense is on the other side.
Personally, I think both QBS very much benefit from this tooty fruity Era of football.
6 superbowls 4 championships is all that needs to be said
Yeah yeah yeah. Team game and it had as much or more to do with their defense than Brady.
Have to give him credit and we can all thank Mo Lewis of the Jets in 2001 who injured Drew Bledsoe which opened the door for #12 to come in.
Having said that, I find it ironic that in his first 4 seasons he was 10-0 in the play offs with 3 rings. None of the seasons that actually won those first 3 did he pass for 4000 yards nor 30 tds. In fact since then and in his 10 best statistical seasons he is 10-9 in the play offs and 1-2 in Super bowls. He has not beaten a Manning in the playoffs since 2004. He now also has a losing record against Peyton in the playoffs.
Like I said, I personally think Manning would probably have two or three more rings if he had the defense Brady did early in his career.
