Last week, four Idaho college students were brutally stabbed to death, and just a few days ago in Massachusetts at least one person was killed and over a dozen injured when an SUV crashed into an Apple store at high speed.
Yet, liberals still refuse to support meaningful knife control and car control, since they care more about cooking and driving convenience than they do about human lives. Their argument that "knives and cars don't kill people, people do" is truly looking increasingly obscene as the death toll from knife stabbings and car attacks grows year after year.
Liberals care so little about human life that they won't even support the minimal step of holding knife and car makers liable when their products are used to kill people. Casting aside all emotion, liberals resort to the ruthlessly logical argument that "knife and car makers can't be held responsible for how some people misuse their products." Tell that to the victims' families, who stand to win millions of dollars in lawsuits if only liberals would hold knife and car makers liable for the carnage caused by their products.
Needless to say, liberals strongly reject the more serious, and desperately needed, step of banning private ownership of sharp knives and cars. Banning private car ownership would compel a vast expansion of public transportation, which would help save the environment at the same time. And, banning private ownership of sharp knives would merely mean that meat producers would need to pre-slice their meats. But liberals turn a deaf ear to these humane pleas and arguments. Have they no shame, no decency?
