'Serious moment': Reactions pour in from Congress after Trump strikes Iran

In the wake of the "massive" strikes on Iran by the U.S. and Israel Saturday, members of Congress have begun weighing in -- with Democrats demanding answers -- and some calling for lawmakers to return to Washington to vote on resolutions that would check President Donald Trump's power to wage war.

Republicans have so far praised President Donald Trump's decision to undertake "massive combat operations" against Iran, with an eye towards liberating the Iranian people.

Democratic Sen. Tim Kaine of Virginia is calling on the Senate to return to Washington immediately to vote on a war powers resolution to check the president's authority to wage war with Iran.

"Has President Trump learned nothing from decades of U.S. meddling in Iran and forever wars in the Middle East?" Kaine said in a statement.

"These strikes are a colossal mistake, and I pray they do not cost our sons and daughters in uniform and at embassies throughout the region their lives," he added.

"The Senate should immediately return to session and vote on my War Powers Resolution to block the use of U.S. forces in hostilities against Iran. Every single Senator needs to go on the record about this dangerous, unnecessary, and idiotic action," he said.

Huh, well that's typical....Congress relinquished their power to the executive so they would not have to do anything. Now since POTUS did something with the power they relinquished they want to whine about it.
A good way to smoke out the traitors siding with ones that have had American blood on their hands since 1971, never slowing down.

Will Trump still fulfill his dream of being "The President of Peace?" LOL. I think not.

'I want to be remembered as man of peace': Newly sworn-in President Trump said at inauguration

Yeah ... not happinin'

As for Congressmen, follow Thomas Massie. You can't go wrong. He's a true "America First" Representative.

Either the Attorney General or the Secretary of State should issue a detailed statement, providing the legal and Constitutional justification for this military action.

As with all legal opinions, one can certainly disagree, but the legal case should be made promptly and forcefully. Allowing all these Leftists railing about it, without response is not good.

Ever read the book, "The Sum of All Fears" by Tom Clancy? The terrorists smuggled a bomb inside a cigarette machine and put it in a stadium where the equivalent of the Superbowl was being held in Baltimore. Although a little dated, the same thing could happen today.
It is possible that as time moves on, some terrorists are going to get WMD's through any security.

I agree except I don’t see it as political…not us vs them.. We bombed a nation and as the taxpayers and voters and citizens we should be apprised of what is going on.

A show of hands, who misses the Iranian thug? Yeah nobody, well maybe the squad and the usual gaggle of Democrat traitors but nobody else.
I wonder if anyone will miss the dead kids from collateral damage?

Biden let thousands of them in with his illegal alien surge.
Biden is a traitor of the first order. So are ALL the Democrats who aided him. Can you imagine if another country invaded the USA with 15 million people, killing and raping over 200,000 Americans? We would declare WAR and obliterate them from the face of the earth. Yet here we have a illegitimate president who turned FULL traitor, encouraging, enabling and funding the invasion.

History will record that as the greatest example of treason in U.S. history.

Sounds good. Until you put it into practice from your agendas. Add up the size of the federal, state, city, regional, county, township governments and all of the monopolies and government contractors involved, and it has to be near 60% with the revenues obtained from taxpayers and all other ways.

Biden should have been hung for treason.
I guarantee you back in the Founding Fathers' era, he would have been.
And they had it right back then.
In addition, let's not forget a few others like Mayorkas. He was part and parcel to the Great Illegal Alien Invasion. ™️
