Today, on a leafy cul-de-sac in North Carolina, his hair is streaked with gray, and he wears his beard long. But on that day 13 years ago, as he sat tucked behind a mud wall in Afghanistan, his head was close-cropped, bare and vulnerable.

Got a perfect memory. It was the quest to capture or kill Bin Laden. He hid in the mountains and escaped to Pakistan. We didn't have a war with Pakistan, so no more headlines for Afghanistan, so we spiced thing up by going for weapons of mass destruction in Iraq and Afghanistan went back burner. You get no points for blaming Congress. Sure they were no prize, but were sold one thing in afganistan, then we did another, sold one thing in Iraq and then did two or three others. It was all bullsh#t and you know it.
