Sept. 1. Trump raised your taxes again today!

...and Trump supporters are cheering everywhere, because they disenfranchised the Tea party, and are convinced that the more money the government takes from you, the better off you are!

Trump is raising your taxes today
China has devalued their currency, and dropped prices on a large number of their products to keep the prices that are under tariffs from rising. We import a lot more in Chinese products then China does of ours. Their economy is already suffering.

There are ways not to be taxed if you want to call it that. Only buy what you really need. Buy American first. If you feel you have to have it and have Chinese then shop around and try to find it at the lowest price possible.

Usually though taxes are not voluntary. They are voted on by congress.

15% of your new car is made in China.

But, beyond that, tariffs cost Americans jobs, and destroys wealth. Everybody suffers from Walmart down to the parent buying back to school shoes and backpacks for their kids. The American Chamber of Commerce opposes these tariffs. 160 CEO's from major companies went on record of opposing them. Wall Street, and individual investors oppose them.

I could be wrong but exactly how does 15% of a new car that I don't plan to buy this year affect me?
Once again you can buy American which increases demand for those products which increases jobs.
IF you really must buy Chinese buy from the cheapest supplier. That reduces your cost.
Of course some hate the idea of tariffs. You have those that hate anything and everything Trump says or does. If he claimed that breathing air was good you would have those claiming that everyone should stop breathing.
Some oppose them because tariffs might affect their bottom line.
Some see it better not to rock the boat. Does not matter if things are good or bad, only that things stay the same.

I haver already posted the results on 161 American CEO's why agree that Tariffs are American job and economy killers.

So why do other countries levy them doyathink?

Well, in the case of China, they levy them to retaliate against us, which is destroying the agricultural economy of this country in the areas of cotton, soybeans, and corn.

Try again.

Canada is a very bad country. The had tariffs on imported dairy at 300% shame on them

Brace yourself, Vandalshandle. Your stupid ass is going to kicked again in 2020. lol

...and you will be paying for it, with Trump's socialistic agenda of taxing people to subsidize corporations through tariffs. Good work, comrade.
How poor are you?

The GF and I both earn a modest salary. She’s a nurse practitioner earning ~$110k, and I’m earning slightly less than her.
We both saw a bump in pay since Trump was elected. How is that bad for us?

...and when you are retired and on fixed income, it won't bother you one bit when your government continues to increase your taxes to benefit the corporations in America, including GE and Amazon, among about 50 other major American companies, who pay no tax at all.
I don't think you really understand taxes. A large portion of those on a fixed retirement do not pay taxes as they do not make enough to tax.
The funny part is first off the only ones talking about raising taxes is the democrats.
Second the ones that write the tax code and put in all the loopholes that allow Amazon and others not to pay taxes are the same millionaires in congress who don't want to pay taxes.

...lead by Trump, who New York state says has not paid taxes in 10 years.
Lol you really are a clown. You do realize that the largest part of our tax codes were written long before Trump was elected. You can go back to the 1970 and companies like Sun Oil did not pay any taxes some years.
But don't let reality get in the way there buckaroo.

Are you sure about that? I know of a whole bunch of military retirees who would disagree with you on that, because military retirement is considered taxable income. And, fwiw......................my total tax bill this year was almost 900 bucks that I paid in and didn't get back.

The only time military retirement ISN'T taxed is when it is a medical retirement due to injuries.

Tax Breaks for Disabled Veterans

Military retirement pay based on age or length of service is considered taxable income for Federal income taxes, and most state income taxes. However, military disability retirement pay and veterans' benefits, including service-connected disability pension payments, are almost always fully excluded from taxable income.
I hate to break it to you but I live in a retirement community. There are very few that pay income tax. There is a threshold that if you do not make more then you do not pay federal income tax. Social Security is not included as taxable income. I believe that the married filing jointly you must make over $25,000.00. So you and your wife can make $25,000.00 on top of Social Security before you even have to file.

Social security is most definitely taxable income.

Not only were you wrong about retirees not paying income tax (all military retirees who aren't disabled pay it), but you are also wrong about how social security is taxed. That may be true if they live exclusively on social security, but, there are rules about that, and most people have some form of income other than social security when they retire. And the operative word about not paying taxes on SS is "probably won't", not "never will".

Is Social Security Taxable? (2018 Update) - SmartAsset

The simplest answer is yes, Social Security is taxable. Whether or not you have to pay taxes on your Social Security benefits depends on your income level. If you have other sources of retirement income, such as a 401(k) or a part-time job, then you should expect to pay income taxes on your Social Security benefits. If you rely exclusively on your Social Security checks, you probably won’t pay taxes on your benefits.

Oh no!!!
No more patriotic merchandise and clothing?!
I want my MAGA hats, my Ivanka shoes, my Trump ties, my Lahren yoga pants with the built-in gun holster (called Freedom...so you know they're patriotic)!!!!

Tariffs are NOT TAXES...
Wrong.

Tariffs are in fact a tax:

A $1,000 annual tax on the typical US household

“The Sept. 1 tariffs would take about $16 billion out of Americans’ pockets over the course of a year, if Chinese import levels remain the same. Add in the Dec. 15 tariffs and the cost of the tax would rise to $40 billion.” ibid

Well just damn. Canada must be dying. They have a 300% tariff on dairy!

Typical liberal bad math.

One third of SS is taxable, but it is not about income tax. Trump's tariffs are a regressive tax on the poor and middle class. If it was just to protect American industry, the government would credit it back to the public at income tax time. They don't.
