What about Civil Service?The law is clear. IF Social Security is you sole source of income, it's tax free. You don't file a tax return. If you receive other money, your Social Security benefits can then become taxable if that money AND your Social Security combined go over statutory limits. Social Security ain't income until you get outside income... then it's income.
I don't about taxes for civil service employees, but if you had money not taxable coming in, it's probably going to be subject to taxes. Put simply, a disability check from Uncle Scam is not taxable provided it is your only source of money coming in. The stimulus checks will be taxable; therefore, the money you used to get that was not taxable WILL BE included as taxable income due to the stimulus package UNLESS Congress makes special considerations for it. Once Trump sends out the money, the tax part rests solely with the IRS and they don't even answer to God,.
