There were almost no Jews there when the Geeks took over aroudn 300 BC
The Romans pretended there was a Jewish country around 150 BC, but it was always fake.
But the Romans kicked out the Jews by 170 AD.
The Crusades wiped out any remaining Jews.
There were no significant Jewish population in Palestine for thousands of years.
Much larger Jewish population were in Spain, Egypt, Russia, Poland, etc.

And no land should be based on religion.
