It's kinda like the Japanese buying up all the property in cities in the 90's in rampant speculation only Japan had no plans to take over our country but we can always reclaim it for American citizens if need be & push comes to shove.
They may "own" it but that land isn't going anywhere. As long as they aren't using it for nefarious purposes, it's allowed by the law.

However, it is suspicious that China is buying up so much land around military bases.
Surely China Joe's CCP masters would never do anything with bad intentions...
