Why would they double cross someone doing what they want them to do?

From what I hear, if they self deport they also don't incur the time penalties on trying to come here legally if they choose to do so.

THAT is a far bigger carrot than even the $$.

It would seem to me, that the best incentive to cooperate is to be put at the end of the line for deportation, and to also still be eligible for LEGAL immigration later.


If it comes out that the administration is not making good on its promise of payments, I have no doubt, that the international press will expose that immediately.

Say they are going to pay, get them to show up at airport to get the funds, and the admin renege....ship them off without giving them the money....


or have some stipulation in fine print in the agreement that... they forfeit their opportunity to ever apply legally to enter....

So far, the admin has not been honest about a lot of what they have claimed regarding their deportation policy and actions....A constitutional slippery slope too....

So, details, dotting I's and crossing T's, is important.

Otherwise, it could work...say a family of 5 getting $5k and airplane ride back....depending on their country's low cost of living, it could lure them? Maybe tripling it might be a better incentive though, and likely still save us a ton of money....

It costs over $20k easily just in labor to deport someone, why not let them leave for far cheaper?

What would be the point of that? $1000 and a plane ticket for self deporting is a money saver.
