can we be honest. he infringed on 2A with bumpstocks, and there was the ā€œTake the guns first, go through due process secondā€
Trump is not pro 2A, heck he is not a Republican for that matter.

Anyone of you have a "marijuana" card, well he is coming for your gun rights. Listen to me when I tell you this, you voted for it and none of this should come as a surprise at all.

WASHINGTON – The Trump administration’s aggressive defense of gun rights has at least one exception.

The government’s lawyers want the Supreme Court to make clear that regular pot smokers – and other drug users āˆ’ shouldn’t be allowed to own firearms.

An appeals court has said a federal law making it a crime for drug users to have a gun can’t be used against someone based solely on their past drug use.

Limiting the law to blocking the use of guns while a person is high effectively guts the statute that reduces gun violence, the Justice Department told the Supreme Court. It's asking the justices to overturn the appeals court’s decision.

Clearly, you are as misinformed about this as most everything else you post.
ATF 4473, the federal firearms transaction record has been clear for decades that the UNLAWFUL use of marijuana or other narcotics is reason for denial (question #21f). If you followed the news, you would also be aware that Hunter Biden falsified this form while purchasing a hand gun. Now that your unnecessary hysteria has been exposed, you can carry on.

But if he classifies pot in with tylonol, wouldn't that make pot NOT a drug?

I had a medical marijuana card years ago. I never renewed it. I was sure having that card would hurt me in some way. One day I went to buy a Ruger 450 bushmaster deer hunting gun and they said I was red flagged. In a week they approved me but it was either that medical marijuana card or my history in the courts. I've beaten up a couple people and I'm sure even though I don't have a record and was never convicted, I'm sure that history is on my permanent record. So either the pot license or my history of violence red flagged me. I'd be really curious what held up my gun purchase.

Anyways, I don't mind background checks or 3 day cool down periods so I was fine waiting a week.

So if I shoot someone one day the family of the person I shot should insist on a drug test. If I have weed in my system, busted?

You do not smoke marijuana. One day you fill out the form and buy a gun. Later you start smoking marijuana.
See how easy that is. No one was DENIED because of that form. this is about "ownership" after the fact

The government’s lawyers want the Supreme Court to make clear that regular pot smokers – and other drug users āˆ’ shouldn’t be allowed to own firearms.

An estimated 19% of Americans have used marijuana and about 32% own a firearm. That means millions of Americans are violating the law that could put them behind bars for up to 15 years, they said in a filing.

Even if your STATE says A OK to smoking dope and owing a gun, Trump says NO. You are in violation of FEDERAL LAW.

They are coming for your ass and they are going to lock you up :badgrin::badgrin:

The Trump administration's lawyers want the Supreme Court to make it official that regular weed smokers, as well as other drug users, should not be allowed to own firearms.

An appeals court has said a federal law making it a crime for drug users to have a gun can’t be used against someone based solely on their past drug use.

In Oklahoma, there are protections for both firearm owners and marijuana users set in place that could work against this legislation, should the Supreme Court make a decision.

What are Oklahoma’s gun and marijuana laws?

It has been codified in Oklahoma that a resident can’t be denied ā€œthe right to own, purchase or possess a firearm, ammunition or accessoriesā€ because they are a medical marijuana patient or caregiver.

The statute, which was passed in 2019, was further defined with the Oklahoma Self-Defense Act.

However, the statute further reads that ā€œno state or local agency, municipal or county governing authority shall restrict, revoke, suspend or otherwise infringe upon the right of a person to own, purchase or possess a firearm, ammunition, or firearm

This means that while no local level can override Oklahoma’s state laws, the federal level can decide. Depending on their decision, the state laws may be affected.

that means... Even if your STATE says A OK to smoking dope, Trump says NO. You are in violation of FEDERAL LAW.

The question is unconstitutional. Nor is using non government approved recreational substances listed in the 2nd Amendment as a prohibition against citizens owning weapons. No where in the Constitution does it give the feds the right to outlaw the recreational use of Cannabis in all 50 states or to implement a draconian foreign policy based on it's eradication. It took a constitutional amendment to outlaw Alcohol nation wide didn't it? Back then, we didn't raid distilleries in other countries did we?

It is already a federal crime for drug users to own guns.

One time in my 40's I beat a 25 year old up walking to my car at the mall. He made fun of me and I told him one day he's going to **** with the wrong guy and get his ass kicked. He said "oh you're going to kick my ass you short fat old man?" I said yea, and spit right on his forehead. He came at me and tried to throw two punches but each time I backed off. Each time I yelled "come on big boy, what you got?" So he shuffled towards me and was going to attempt a 3rd punch. But I knew he was going to do that half ass punch again so instead of just backing away when he attempted to throw the punch, the 3rd time I backed off then shot in and double legged him to the ground. He hit the back of his head on the ground. I jumped on top of him full mount and with my left hand reached over and grabbed his shirt on the left shoulder and with my right hand grabbed his shirt on his right arm, then I crossed them and started choking him with his own shirt. When he tried to resist I head butted him and yelled SETTLE DOWN.

Oh he settled down alright. Then I looked up and yelled SOMEONE CALL THE POLICE. Then his two buddies started yelling at me "get off of him". I said "short fat old what?" "how much did you guys say you wanted to bet on this fight?" They were in shock. A short chubby 45 year old man just beat up their buddy who was at least 6 foot tall. I'm 5'6. And I've always been a bit chubby. Even though underneath is a college wrestler and former Metro Detroit Powerlifting champion.

When I helped him up and brushed him off I said "boy you must be really embarrassed getting your ass kicked like that in front of your boys huh?" He started to get angry and I said "be careful boy, next time I won't be so nice and stop hitting you once I get you down".

The other time a new neighbor thought I stole something from him. Long story short, he and his buddy were losers. I think his buddy took the $100 and blamed me. They came to my door with a bat and a golf club. They left and I called the cops but the cops did nothing about it. So later that night I broke open his doorwall, walked into his place and beat him within an inch of his life. Lucky for me I have a cop friend who interviewed him after it happened. My buddy talked him out of pressing charged. My buddy loves to remind me that he saved me from 10 years in prison.

This is POST purchase. State level says it is LEGAL. Trump is saying it is not
Legal Conflict
  • State vs. federal law: This creates a conflict for residents in states with legal medical marijuana. While state law may permit the use of a medical marijuana card, federal law prohibits gun possession, making the situation legally complex.
No fear Trump is going to clear that up.

I was walking my dog with this woman yesterday. I just met her. She could tell I am a sweet person but you know what they say? You never really know someone. Especially someone you just met. Then I thought about that guy who was murdering women on that hiking trail. He had a dog. The dog made him seem like a nice guy. He truly loved that dog. Obviously, more than he loved people.

Anyways, I don't care if you are packing a gun. You won't see it coming honey.

Lots of people smoke dope in America. It should not cause you to lose your 2nd amendment right. How about if you get a speeding ticket? Anyone who would do such a reckless thing should never own a gun. Have you ever drove fast? How about drunk drivers? Anyone who has ever gotten a DUI should NEVER get a gun. Or have their guns taken away.

Who cares that you don't smoke pot. Sounds like you are okay with bad laws as long as they don't affect you.

And its been that way.
Even if a state has it legal, its still illegal at the federal level. The feds could raid every legal dispensary in the country and charge the owners with federal crimes. See, federal law trumps state law.

Let us not get into a spat of whom will or will not see it coming.

It should cause you to lose your rights. Marijuana is illegal at a Federal Level
When you drive recklessly you could lose your drivers license.
Follow the law and you will have no problems

FYI

Laws that existed at the time the country was founded restricted the rights of habitual drinkers, even when they were sober

I do not believe you

all hat no cattle

He’s absolutely CORRECT!!!

One of the cardinal principles of firearms ownership is RESPONSIBILITY. Guns and alcohol don’t mix. Guns and prescription narcotics don’t mix. Guns and ANY substance which makes an individual less capable of making life-or-death decisions in a split second DO NOT MIX!!!

It’s just that simple folks. Guns and marijuana are a recipe for disaster.
