Well, geez, haven't they been kind of fighting for their independence for . . . centuries? Are they just going to be like, meh, we changed our minds.

I think Welsh were the most abused lot by English. English synonymized Welsh with deceit to the extent that it became a word in English language which means to dishonor an agreement. Princess Diana, I think was from Wales. So if you were lucky and got a sniff of her DNA, you probably are all set.
