"Science be damned!" Let's have Oil rule our lives!

Then you should have known where the numbers come from, and why they look the way they do.
Sorry for the mistake, it was a guess and I didn't know you were just stupid. :auiqs.jpg:
Doesn't change the fact that he is as usual talking bull and lies to keep his MAGA dolts in line, whilst doing the opposite to please his Billionaire investors and thus filling his own wallet. Those Billionaires know exactly that future bucks are being made in renewables, and not in antiques such as Oil, Coal and NLG.

Only stupid people - obviously - don't get it. ;)

Oh my goodness, are you suggesting a billionaire might actually invest in a piece of cheap property practically no one wants and manage to end up making some money doing so.

What a novel idea, damn you are a genius, you ******* loon. :auiqs.jpg:

Regardless of the climate issue, clean and renewable energy is definitely on its way. It's a shame that so many hate the idea simply because their simplistic, hyperpartisan ideology makes them do so. There is absolutely nothing wrong with clean, intelligent and cheap. For a change.
You are the poster boy for simplistic hyper partisan ideology. Grow up!

Oh yeah, that's some prime commercial property there, bet the person who owns it is making some money.
What the **** will they ever do without the ski resort that was going to go there though, and it's a shame they had to cut down all those trees. :auiqs.jpg:

You have a real hard time connecting dots, chief.

The Op was about Trump withdrawing the regulations and restrictions on that issue,

The regulations are not an issue unless you believe the models are infallible. So far, the "models" they want have been beyond embarrassingly bad. You've got to defend the issue if you believe we must restrict because of the issue. Derp. You've yet to be able to do so. Don't start threads based upon faulty presumptions if you can't stand the heat. Moron.

One stated outlook being mistaken

It's not "one". It's many. The one I cited was embarrassingly glaring for them, however. You don't put signs like that up around our national parks based upon what you WANT rather than what is.

The is by about money but about protecting this planet for all of humanity to be able to live in it

No, that's not based upon fact. Fact is fossil fuels are the most efficient and the economically most viable form of energy production that we have right now. Fossil fuels have saved/extended billions of lives over the last 200 years. Develop an alternative that is economically viable and you'll seize the market. Don't run on conspiracy theories and faulty presumptions that have been PROVEN to be questionable, at best, and then try to kneecap our economy because you are unable to provide a viable economic alternative.

We moved from horse buggy to car not because we kneecapped alternatives to cars. It's because cars won the market and proved to be the most efficient, quickest way to travel.

Now move on, little boy. This thread is dead.

We don't kneecap our economy based upon left-wing hope.

It's simple for you kooks. Bring prices down and choices up in the REAL world then and it will win the market. That's how you transition. We don't force transition in a society based on "maybes". That's Nazi germany or the Soviet Union babble.

"Hate the idea"

LOL
..........from the kooks who are the ones trying to kneecap the market which thrives on efficiency and cost for consumers. Talk about "hate the idea". We are the ones that are pushing for whichever method is best suited for us. We don't need to ban anything unlike you fools. My God, you're stupid.

That small plant in West Texas produces around 180 MW
A 1-megawatt (MW) farm generally yields around $43,500 per year, with ROI often ranging around 15%
No negative environmental impact - no CO2 contribution, and investments costs are going way down

An Oil & Gas company in Texas has an ROI of around 30% - if the Barrel Price is at US$ 69
It has an ROI of 0% - if the Barrel Price is below US$ 57
Negative environmental impact - huge CO2 contribution - investment costs are steadily increasing.

Now you know why gas prices need to be, and are kept high!! and why the high tech billionaires are ALL into renewables.

West Texas,

Look at the wasted land/agricultural resource for an energy production method that at current production levels might provide electricity for a sub-division in the 'burbs for a day!

Now in 20 years or so these panels will have exhausted their lifespan and be headed into the landfill! Yay for the environment!

LOL

Solar panels don’t contribute to CO2 numbers?

You think they just magically appear all set up in the middle of nowhere?

What is this left-wing drivel?

LOL

Boy, if you want to put panels on your home or on your private land then do it! That's why we have a market and choices! In fact, I have had them on my home since 2017 and they've reduced my power bill to about $10/month........even in summer when I'm running my AC a lot. I believe that I'm now in the black on an initial investment which is cool and getting further ahead each month.

Here's the thing, though, I CHOSE to go that path and determined it would probably save me money in the long run. It's not because someone kneecapped the power grid for their own gain or personal belief. Solar panels owners are almost entirely on the grid. and dependent on the grid.

The fact is that fossil fuels are the cheapest form of energy production we currently have. Beat it and you'll have a new market winner. Alternative energy producers have little incentive to keep prices down or look for ways to drive them down further if their competition gets taken out based up conspiracy theorists trying to legislate them out of existence. Suck it, chump.

It is not on its way

It is a pipe dream

We can use fossil fuels cleanly. But big corporatist oil companies dont need to pollute at their whim. Increase fines bigly for willful polluters. It takes no extra money to use fossil fuels without a trace.
Wrong

It cannot be done without a trace.

Did you know that trees convert carbon dioxide into oxygen with no negative environmental impact?
Did you know that trees are actually a renewable resource?

Did you know that corporations can buy carbon credits in trees that are growing to offset their carbon footprint and avoid regulations? Did you know that they can sell those carbon credit to other corporations?

Did you know that when you cut a tree down, those carbon credits are still on the market?
Did you know that those carbon credits can still be sold if the tree is cut into boards?
Did you know that those carbon credits will still be on the market until the board either burns or decays (not really sure how they accurately keep track of that if they do at all)?

It's a fricken "shell game", all of it. :auiqs.jpg:
Then you go on ranting about the rich when you are sitting there grifting for some of them.

By the way gas prices are not high anywhere near where I live.
And yes, anyone who wants a piece of the moon pie in green giveaways, and money to be made, will invest in what some fool will buy.

I would be perfectly with some things if they weren't trying to rob the National Treasury and regulate the crap out of everyone at the same time.

These are the same people who charge their vehicles using electricity generated by coal. They are duped and suckered into believing that's a zero emission setup because they aren't using gasoline anymore. LOL

Trump set to gut US climate change policy and environmental regulations: White House official

WASHINGTON February 10, 2026 (AP) — The Trump administration is expected this week to revoke a scientific finding that long has been the central basis for U.S. action to regulate greenhouse gas emissions and fight climate change, according to a White House official.

The Environmental Protection Agency will issue a final rule rescinding a 2009 government declaration known as the endangerment finding. That Obama-era policy determined that carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases endanger public health and welfare.

Here is the percentage of scientists that say that climate change is caused by humans

Between 97% and 99.9% of actively publishing climate scientists agree that humans are the primary cause of recent global warming. Multiple studies confirm this overwhelming consensus, with research analyzing scientific literature indicating that more than 99% of peer-reviewed papers support human-caused climate change.

The Causes of Climate Change

Over the last century, burning of fossil fuels like coal and oil has increased the concentration of atmospheric carbon dioxide (CO2). This increase happens because the coal or oil burning process combines carbon with oxygen in the air to make CO2.

Who benefits from cutting these regulations:
  • Key beneficiaries of removing carbon emission regulations include:
    • Fossil Fuel Industry: Oil, gas, and coal companies benefit from lower compliance expenditures, such as the elimination of reporting requirements (e.g., the Greenhouse Gas Reporting Program) and reduced costs for upgrading equipment to meet emissions standards.
    • Manufacturing Sector: Industries with high energy consumption, such as steel and cement manufacturers, may face lower operating costs, allowing them to compete more effectively with foreign, higher-carbon products.
    • Transportation and Automobile Industry: Automakers, particularly those focusing on internal combustion engines, may see lower manufacturing costs and fewer fines, while the trucking industry expects reduced logistical costs, according to the American Trucking Association.
    • Small Businesses: Supporters argue that removing "burdensome" regulations will save small businesses billions in compliance costs.
    • Consumers (Short-Term): Proponents argue that reducing energy regulations will lead to cheaper, more reliable, and more affordable energy for heating and transportation.

While there are some short-term economic benefits to Americans and American companies by taking down these regulations, such as tangible cost reductions, the removal of these regulations is heavily criticized by environmental and health advocates. As such, this is more about short-term political goals of Trump than it is about helping the future of our world.

When science is used to limit prosperity, it becomes dogma.

15th post
"hopefully" that will be the case, but removing regulations on existing problems does not solve anything
Very true. Blindly reducing/removing regulations based on political ideology can cause far more harm than good. The 2008 Meltdown should have taught us that, but it didn't.

Look at the wasted land/agricultural resource for an energy production method that at current production levels might provide electricity for a sub-division in the 'burbs for a day!
That plant provides energy for 18,000 households! - obviously farming doesn't pay off - and or the land simply isn't suitable for crops or farming. Nest generation Solar panels (tandem tech) would increase the provided energy by 30% at around 20% lower investment. Imagine the future MW output of such a plant due to constant development improvements in e.g. 15 years.

They are already and will be even far cheaper then a modern nuke plant e.g. an EPR reactor.

Cost for a 800 MW EPR 2 (newest generation) reactor is around US$ 7 Billion - it's huge operating and maintenance costs not included.
The investment presently for a 800 MW Solar-plant is around US$ 800 million - with negligible op. and maintenance costs.
Now in 20 years or so these panels will have exhausted their lifespan and be headed into the landfill! Yay for the environment!

LOL
By then the ROI would be 3 fold of the initial investment !! and for modern plants 4-4,5 fold.

Older Solar panels are 90-95% recyclable. present new generation (FLAXRES) 98-99% whereby all high grade Glass, Copper and Aluminum is regained, How many % of heavily contaminated Oil&Gas installations can be recycled during & after 30 years? and at what costs? not to mention the heavily contaminated sites alone.

You obviously know very little about the topic,

You obviously know very little about the topic,
They're conditioned to attack science, not realizing what it has given us, and not bothering to know what is happening right now in terms of energy creation and storage. Science bad, dirty energy good.

While they communicate on a computer, talk on a smartphone and watch satellite TV. Too funny.

I gave up trying to communicate with them on economics/markets, my profession for over two decades, for this kind of thing. They don't know what's going on, but they sure THINK they do. Dunning-Kruger all day.

.
Do you even realize that,

Trees aka plants emit carbon dioxide primarily at night through a process called (respiration), as they burn stored energy, and continuously in smaller amounts during the day, though this is offset by oxygen production during daylight. (photosynthesize). They also release CO2 when they die, decompose, burn or are burned, and under stress during a drought ???

If you hadn't skipped science aka biology in class or slept through it - you could remember the lesson telling you "why" people should not keep excessively plants in their bedroom.

Hey you funny - Ha, Ha you funny
