Not sure what is in this 'deal'.

More to come, for sure.

At least eight Senate Democrats have agreed to vote for the deal, which was brokered Sunday night between three former governors (Sens. Jeanne Shaheen, Angus King and Maggie Hassan), Senate Majority Leader John Thune and the White House.

As part of the deal, Senate GOP leaders have promised a vote on a bill regarding expiring enhanced ACA subsidies by the end of the second week in December, according to another source familiar with the matter. The expectation is that House and Senate GOP leaders will negotiate with Democrats on that bill in the coming weeks after the government is reopened.

The deal also guarantees all federal workers will be paid for time during shutdown.

About time the Dems caved

No...

The ACA subsidy extension, plus another $1 trillion, was to be agreed upon to secure the CR vote.

No one with any brains would take that, particularly since the subsidies were not to expire until December.

I'm not happy with some of this, but they didn't ask Me. Sucks to be Me.

Regardless, a promised vote by 12/14 isn't really a commitment. I'm hoping they will actually look after the American people by simply doing away with the ACA. We'll see.

Looks like there are defectors in the Democrat ranks. :p

LOL, I can see it now. Dec. 14, The issue before congress is continuation of the ACA and the vote is 219 Nays to 213 Yeas. The measure is defeated. SUCK IT.

They agreed to have a vote on it, simplejack, not to extend them as a condition of re-opening the gov.
SCHACO Schumer caved.

Is there any justification for the ACA insurance subsidies other than that the beneficiaries love it?

It is a horrific band-aid on a failed insurance program - one which was sold to the American public on the basis of blatant lies

In its current form, it PENALIZES employers and employees with traditional subsidized health insurance, which will certainly result in employers ending their employee insurance programs, in exchange for a couple dollar pay increase.

SOMEBODY in Washington with balls is going to have to campaign against this cornucopia of unconstitutional give-aways which Democrats use to buy votes. They are more than half of the discretionary budget.
