Not exactly unexpected, Schumer’s government shutdown part 2 may be coming

[PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT]

Contrary to what you have been told...

..... ..... The government does not shut down...

..... ..... ..... ..... The government goes into a "slow down"...

..... ..... ..... ..... ..... ..... Most will still report to work and all will be paid.

This shit won't end until we require that the government shut down 100%.

Thank you for your attention in this matter when Congress fails to pass appropriations.

By the time this current CR runs out, we will have a handle on how much typical people on the ACA are affected by the Democrats' expiry of the COVID supplental subsidies, which will be not much. Democrats will be left to cry over entrepreneurs, artists, small business operators and self-employed professionals, like chiropractors who will be off the gravy train effective January 1.

We'll see how much appetite there really is to force waitresses, janitors, and teachers to pay for people who make over $100K without answering to a boss or punching a clock.

“the Democrats' expiry of the COVID supplental subsidies, which will be not much.”

WTF are you talking about???????

It was the GOP that adopted these cuts as part of your fuhrer’s Big Beautiful Bill.

It was the GOP that fought tooth and nail to keep these cuts.

There is no “we shall see” here. The premium notice hikes have all gone out.

This is on Trump, and the GOP Congress.

Your attempt to invert that reality is absolutely and shamelessly idiotic.

When Republicans control the White House, the House and the Senate, it is impossible for Democrats to shut down the government. IMPOSSIBLE.

Any suggestion that Republicans aren't totally responsible for these shutdowns is a complete joke. Furthermore, the American people didn't buy this lie for one second.
GD you're stupid.

When every Democrat votes for a shutdown, the Republicans can't get 60 votes to keep it open.
They need a super-majority to keep the government open.

They weren't cuts. They just didn't extend the subsidies.
Dummycraps let them expire to have an excuse to shut down the government.

Yeah.....and it's only a shutdown when the Dems and their corrupt media calls it a shutdown.

The most recent Schumer Shutdown always held within it the prospect of being renewed.

And although both “sides” are allegedly inclined to work more closely with each other to avoid that brinksmanship nonsense, it isn’t difficult to foresee the negotiations breaking down yet again.

I suspect that nobody is a big fan of such shutdowns. But if the GOP is serious about controlling excessive spending, it may soon prove to be inevitable.
My government worker friends love the shutdowns. They consider it an additional paid vacation. Of course, they all earn a lot of money working for the Feds, so they don’t worry about delayed pay.

There is no "cut" of the COVID Supplemental Subsidy in the Big Beautiful Bill. If someone told you that, they lied to you.

The Democrats scheduled them to expire day after tomorrow. That's on them.

If they had been willing to negotiate with Republicans for a more sensible subsidy, it could have been made permenant at the time, and there'd be nothing to argue about. They were too busy protecting millionaires who choose not to punch a clock or have a boss.
There is no “we shall see” here. The premium notice hikes have all gone out.
Why has no one posted their hike notice in the thread I started just for that purpose?

That has nothing to do with Trump.

It has to do with the fact that government "shutdowns" aren't really "shutdowns".

You have absolutely no idea what you’re talking about. Get back to defending this guy…

A real shutdown would mean the government would quit collecting tax revenue.
So far, that's never happened.

Yes, the Clinton Administration ran budget surpluses for two years, and handed George W Bush a balanced budget.

Bush promptly gave Wall Street a big tax cut, and deficits returned instantly, Ans have co tinier ever since.

It is ironic that Ronald Reagan campaigned on “out of control” spending, only to become the biggest borrower in history up to that point.
Oh yea, when the GOP Congress forced a balanced budget, after a long shutdown when BJ Clinton refused to sign it. He finally caved and signed it with gnashing teeth.
