Is there any justification for the ACA insurance subsidies other than that the beneficiaries love it?

It is a horrific band-aid on a failed insurance program - one which was sold to the American public on the basis of blatant lies

In its current form, it PENALIZES employers and employees with traditional subsidized health insurance, which will certainly result in employers ending their employee insurance programs, in exchange for a couple dollar pay increase.

SOMEBODY in Washington with balls is going to have to campaign against this cornucopia of unconstitutional give-aways which Democrats use to buy votes. They are more than half of the discretionary budget.

I heard that one of the 3 points in the proposed 'mini bus' is restoring the jobs and pay of fired workers and measures put in place to prevent similar moves in the future. I wonder if these fired folks will be laid off after being reinstated.

The expectation is that House and Senate GOP leaders will negotiate with Democrats on that bill in the coming weeks after the government is reopened.

The GOP only promised a vote. Not passage, not a compromise, just a vote. Meaningless since the GOP has a majority in both houses and the Dems need a supermajority in the senate to pass an extension.
