Or maybe they realize that a shut down would’ve given Donald Trump complete control of any spending.

I was just about to comment that the only reason we keep bringing “essential employees” in with an implied promise to pay them is because the president orders that. Trumps idea essential federal workers is clearly not there’s.

A shutdown is not the result of an action by Congress. It’s a result of delivered in action. That leaves the president to step in and fulfill their duties.

Which I’m sure Donald Trump would’ve enjoyed to the fullest.
