The moon was just a visit. It’s hardly done and, given budget restrictions, cheaper and potentially lucrative, if the right mining opportunities become available. That’s doable in the lifetime of most us; Mars isn’t.

Exploring the moon, or Mars, or even further and into space, or ending space exploration at all is a perfect decision to be made by the free market.

If there’s anything out there that is needed by humanity the free market will surely go and get it. So long as it can be gotten and returned to Earth at a cost effective price.

If there is nothing like that out there, then let’s spend any tax dollars on reducing the debt or furthering the interest of the people of the United States.

There's no evidence that Trump or Musk are going to end medicare or SS, so that is a fantasy.
