EXACTLY the same thing happened to me on our deck - but with a fox. Poor little guy had no way to get off the deck except to pass me.

I sure as heck would not have just stood around on the first pass.

There would have been a streak of fire on the deck as my body broke the sound barrier going the opposite direction, the soles of my shoes leaving little melted strips of rubber showing my path of exit. People near, looking to the sky, searching for a high speed Military aircraft at the sound of my sonic boom. Trees and brush lean in the path of my escape.

Ferocious, powerful and long frontal teeth to rip and shred. Sharp claws to cut and scratch with.

I rather stare at a bear 15 feet away from me while I pick black berries than watch a cat in a set of binoculars, as it walks in a field 500 yards away.

No sir reee. Cougars - Mountain Lions - Jaguars......you can keep em.
