How can that be? Proy data is history and they didn't have measuring equipment then. Unless you know something the rest off us don't!

You got to remember most of the pixies and temperature records at the time of these studies where northern North America and Europe. This is no where near global...A global study was done that shows that it was much cooler then today 1000 years ago.

China and the North Atlantic appears to have been warmer then normal. The middle east, central Asia and western Canada appears to have been cooler.

In this case they take 30 years of the last 160 years of solar warming and warming from the last mini ice age which is all on the positive slope and claim that average is the norm.

The fear mongering about + or - from a subjective number is pure bull shit propaganda. If we wanted to know what the real range was all we have to do is look at the historical record of ranges in the long term.

The earth has a range of about 12 deg C. Today we are high center of the historical warm period range.
