what's wrong with a yacht in Hawaii, one in San Francisco, and one in Miami?

I think Jesus, if he inherited lots of money, would keep only one (1) yacht, if any, and use his other funds to help the less fortunate.
I'm not religious, but I understand ethics and the golden rule.

Buying yachts does help the less fortunate they get jobs making them selling them transporting them fixing them working on them etc. etc.capitalism is the greatest social welfare program in history. Chyna just switch to it and instantly illuminated 40% of all the poverty on the planet

Maybe instead of "investing" in more yachts (& houses, cars, furs, etc) for personal use, the rich can invest their extra money in skill-developing training programs for the poor, like Jesus would have done?

There's no other reason a person who has accumulated (or inherited) enough money would go on accumulating more that he can't spend.

Many people use money as a measure of success.

If you inherited a million dollars, or won a million dollars on a lottery of something, what would you do with it? Would you spend every dime? And if not, what would you do with the remainder you didn't spend?

More than likely you would invest it. Why? To make even more money.

And what do they bring to the table.

You somehow think that if somebody is rich, they are somehow more worthy. A better person. Somebody worth admiring. Some are. Some aren't. One of the most famous poor people I know of is Mother Teresa. She is worth more than all the Wall St leeches put together.

I admire a lot of rich people. Buffet. Gates. Spielberg. Winfrey. A whole raft of people. Don't mistake my disdain for that middle-aged bonds trader worth a couple of hundred million who has given not a single cent to the betterment of humanity, all the while living in a 10-bedroom mansion when only two people live, as me not liking success. I love success. I just don't follow it blindly, or believe that being rich = hard work. Trump hasn't worked a day in his life...he makes money of his father's good fortune, and nothing but a loud mouth braggart who has given the world nothing but gauche, over-the-top gold-laden casinos and shitty reality shows. And if you want to admire that, good for you. I'm not buying his snake oil.

What you did buy into are the stereotypes you imagine.

How do you know what those wall street people donate to charity? How do you know what humanitarian things they did or didn't do? You just assume. People don't donate a ton of money and then walk around with a tee shirt saying so. When Oprah donated two dollars, she made sure everybody in the country watching her knew about it. She even made shows about it.

If you think Trump didn't work a day in his life, obviously you're living in a basement somewhere and nowhere near business. I've seen it first hand. I've seen companies handed down to the children that went belly up in a matter of a few years; silver spoons that just assumed Dad's business ran by itself and was an automatic wealth machine.

Most people with things in life work for them, it's just that some make more money than others. But just because they don't lift roof shingles all day long or tow cars for a living doesn't mean they don't work.

Money is responsibility. There are several books out there about lottery winners that ended up dead broke because they didn't know how to handle money. They didn't hire people to manage their money, they didn't seek professional advice, they didn't seek education on financial matters, they spent like their winnings were never ending, and some even ended up in serious debt and even bankruptcy.
