Rx for the Democrats

/——/ And ABC was sued for $15 million for libel against Trump. Is that JoeB131’s “credible” source?
BWHAHAHAHA BWHAHAHAHA

Fox News paid $787 Million for lying about Dominion voting machines... just to put it in perspective.

ABC paid $15MM to make it go away.

Because litigating it would cost more.

Disney is pissing away 300 Million on a Snow White movie no one is going to watch.

Actually, I agree. Americans will quickly realize what a complete mistake it was to put Trump back into power (if they haven't figured that out already). Democrats need to stand by their principles, which most Americans agree with anyway.
/——/ Here is Trump standing up for America. No democRAT or Republican president did.

Bullshit. NATO serves US interests more than Europe.

The only times NATO has gone to war for realsies is when Afghanistan/Al Qaeda attacked us.

Trump has this obsession that we are being "ripped off", probably because he spent his whole life cheating anyone foolish enough to do business with him.

That's why he loves being a cult leader. He can sell you guys $400.00 sneakers and $60 bibles, and you'll fall for it.

Politics is about PERCEPTION. A rare hopeful sign:

Democrats’ Continued Fixation on Identity Politics Carries Risks

Post-election polling showed that the perception that Harris and the Democrats cared more about individual groups than the broader electorate was a real vulnerability for her. A plurality of swing voters said they believed that Harris was “more focused on cultural issues like transgender issues rather than helping the middle class.” Many Democrats protested this, saying that Harris took pains to not talk about such issues on the trail. But this sentiment was likely less about trans issues, specifically, and more in response to the sense that the party talks about issues that affect certain groups at the expense of the electorate’s primary concerns like the economy and immigration.

The point is this: getting bogged down in identity politics often makes it harder to develop a clear and compelling message with universal appeal. People may know that you stand behind this or that group, but they don’t have a good sense of who you are or what you’ll do for them.

Doing the right thing always carries risks, Vichy Mac.

I'm sorry you were never brought up with the integrity to understand this.

America doesn't need two Republican Parties. One is doing quite enough damage.

If your white fragility is your driving issue, then you might be happier with the GOP.

The reality is, issues like Trans this year or Gay marriage in 2004 are what happens when you don't have bigger issues to worry about.

When (not if) Trump tanks the economy again, you will be amazed how quickly people stop caring about the drag queens.

That's your take. Republicans do identity politics more than anyone. Trump ran a campaign on immigrants raping, eating pets and being the cause of middle class decline. What the democrats are bad at are fighting deplorable bigots who use racism and fear to distract from their economic grifts. In part, admittedly, because many of the Democrats are just fine with the grifting. And that's the game. They mostly grift and try to beat each other electorally on the margins either by promising change to those communities hoping to improve their socioeconomic circumstances or by blaming those communities for the economic decline felt by everyone as we continue the transfer of wealth to the top.

/----/ "When (not if) Trump tanks the economy again,"
Same old lie again, again, and again.

And now the same thing has happened to the Democrats.

Actually, we'll be looking back at 4.1% unemployment and 3% inflation as the "Good Old Days".

The economy was actually pretty good under Biden. The problem was the electorate was still shell-shocked over Covid.

But since 10 of the last 11 recessions happened when Republicans were in charge, we'll soon get a reminder.

The same basic rule applies to both ends of the spectrum: The general issue for which you're advocating is not the problem. The problem is the methods you use while you're doing the advocating.

The Left always dismisses criticism like the OP. Okay, that's certainly up to you. And doing things the way you've been doing them over the last decade or two has worked out just great, right?

Depends what you mean by "Great".

Trump is the result of a society that mistakes celebrity for merit, it never really was about ideology.

Add to that weak opponents (Hillary and Harris both lost their first attempts to get the nomination.), a compliant media more interested in ratings than investigation, and a flawed 18th-century anachronism to choosing presidents, and this is the result one gets.

Still not a good reason to chuck your principles and abandon your loyal supporters to suck up to people who were never going to vote for you to start with.

The irony here is that "helping the middle class" is still identity politics. Just a different interest group. So they're still not really getting it.

The other thing they don't get is that when they pull a lot of their tactics, and when they tell people who complain to SHOVE it, many of those people are middle class and working class.

That's a pretty strong fucking mixed message. "We care about the middle and working classes, but if you don't like our PC/Identity Politics tactics, you can go fuck yourself, you racist homophobe Islamophobe transophobe".

So, since things aren't improving for those people otherwise, they start looking at other alternatives. Why not? And who's defending those people from the PC and Identity Politics crap?

Trump.

Well, that's the core problem with identity politics. Your identity group will receive favor, until they don't. Then they get fucked. I want a government that isn't preoccupied with helping certain interest groups, or targeting others for suppression. Government is there to impartially resolve conflict, not grant favors to its supporters.
