I think Russia's intentions are to conquer the oil/gas fields of Ukraine, not necessarily to overthrow Zelensky government.

Russia's invasion is 10x larger than Iraq. US deployed ~200,000 in 2003 but on a "frontage" 1/10th the size of Russia's invasion. Russia deployed 200,000 across a much larger frontage.

That means the most likely target wasn't to "drive to Baghdad and overthrow the government."

The primary target was to seize a huge amount of territory and deny Europe an alternative oil and gas supply to that of Russia.

They just have a problem being able to actually conquer a nation.
You assume they wanted to take over all of Ukraine.

If they wanted that all they had to do was send a force down the east-side of the cities on the Western border and setup a firewall of artillery and anti-air.

LOL.

Obviously you don't know their intentions based on their own actions.

Yeah, they're certainly much better at slaughtering innocents than we thought.
Then you are a fool.

It is well known just how brutal and savage Russians have been and still are. Their war crimes are no surprise to those of us who have had occasion to study their war-making.

They have always been this way, going back BEFORE Ivan the Great.

It is 1 hour and 30 minutes long not going to watch it.

Evidently, they failed at their mission and have renegotiated the focus of the attack.

Whatever made you think you were a superior being?

What I've learned from the Ukraine invasion is that anybody with even just minimal training can take out 7 or 8 Russian soldiers before they get killed. Orcs can overwhelm only with a huge numbers advantage.

Your brothers died in vain.

Just to put things in historical perspective. The invasion of Poland, also known as Blitzkrieg, is generally held up as one of the fastest and most efficient invasions of another country in history.

The Blitzkrieg Invasion of Poland took 35 days to secure Poland.

Poland is roughly half the size of of The Ukraine and, in 1939, had about 1/5th of the population. Poland did not have equivalent arms to The Nazis.

The Nazis only invaded the Western half of Poland and The Soviets simultaneously invaded the Eastern half.

If Putin just wants oil, why isn't he drilling in the Siberia regions???
Supposedly they have over an estimated 22 BILLION barrels of oil under their own soil.
And thats just what's been found so far.

AND it's estimated that there is at least enough crude oil under the southern part of the USA for at least THREE CENTURIES.

So WHY aren't people flinging their shit at the DNC to reopen ALL of the oil fields and refineries here in the USA that were shut down in the 70s????

The oil companies won't drill. They're making massive profits this year, and that's the only incentive that matters. A shale oil company CEO said he wouldn't increase drilling even if oil prices hit $200 a barrel.

Ukranian oil fields are already developed. They have refineries, pipelines, and a delivery infrastructure.

It will be decades before a Siberian oil field would be competitive with already developed production facilities.

But, it's always nice to have something on tap for later.

In another thread about these missiles I asked if we had any left for ourselves.....Looks like we are further down that path than we know. Rope a doped.....
The other thing is that Lockheed and Raytheon have no real interest in high-volume production of cheap, throw-away weapons. To them they are nuisance items.

They'll make more profit on one Patriot missile battery than 5 year's worth of Javelins and Stingers.

If you tell them to increase production and maybe put in a little overtime, they will cry and moan about much it's going to cost, oh poor us.

330 units a month is not a production line- it's a tiny shop in some corner of one of Raytheon's big plants, with a half-dozen people assembling 75 missiles a week...

OK, first of all, get your facts and terms straight.

That reference of yours is discussing the strategy of Russia, not the performance. And yes, even President Tump and others have said that the strategy used was good.

However, "performance" in this level would be discussing how they are performed tactically. And in that, they have been doing piss poor. Taking fairly little territory, and even losing some they gained. And Ukraine was never a major provider of gas or oil to Europe. In fact, they do not appear in the "Top 10" of any nation exporting oil or gas to Europe. Hell, Algeria and Qatar import more of each of those than Ukraine does, and they are a long boat trip away.

But they were a major competitor with Russia in wheat.

Once again, this is a perfect example of you simply making things up, and not even bothering to see if any of your claims are even true. You really need to stop making things up or lying. Because you are proven so wrong so often, it should be embarrassing.
