Russian people are friendly

I have nothing against the people of Russia and have heard they are a friend lot.
But they have one huge historic problem: they continue to have dictators as their leaders. There's just something amiss there.
So like Venezuela you missed the elections in Russia where Putin was elected?

I have been to Russia three times.
And i was always touched how very friendly the people are.

Putin is a different matter.

Who can agree?
#Decolonization of Moscow🇷🇺 empire is the only way to end Moscow wars of conquest, And I don’t mean putin´s imperialism, but Moscow imperialism in general , from navalny, pushkin and solzhenitsyn to dugin, and brodsky.

I’ve had Russian-born coworkers who were quite friendly.

Oddly several of them, on separate occasions have told me I “look Russian”. Not sure what to make of that

No, I didn't miss anything.
Did I say Putin wasn't elected?
No, I didn't.
Have you missed the part where decade after decade the Russian people are ruled by dictators, whether they've been elected or not?

The people of Russia are not the enemy. But the government of Russia invading Ukraine is the enemy.
Ordinary people in Germany and other NATO states may be friendly (or at least, polite) to individual Russians and vice versa. But ask them - do they support NATO's expansion and current genocidal Neo-Nazi regimes in Ukraine and Baltic states - and most of them do. An individual Russian may be friendly and polite, but ask him (after few shots of vodka) if he supports nuking Berlin - and he will actively support it.

IDK how Russia can invade a soverign country and you guys are somehow sympathetic to the Russian cause. This is also a surprise to our European allies.
WTF is "sovereign"? It's just a word in a dictionary between "sober" and "sozzled". If you think that this (or any other) word allows you to kill Russians - it's your fatal mistake.

Every man has as much power over other man, as he allows him. In fact, Putin is just balancing on the back of a bear.
You know, like a Ciaphas Cain:

I was last there in the 1990s. Everyone loved Americans at the time.
Yes that was in the time of Gorbachov and Yeltsin when Russians thought they were dealing with honest people who meant them no harm and wanted better relations, that worked out great didn't it?

It's called Democracy, i could call many Western leaders Dictators including Starmer and Trump and Macron, all three have shown Dictator traits but i don't call them Dictators so just stop your nonsense.

They got the shaft, that's for sure.

The nonsense is that the Russian electoral system allows somebody to run repeatedly. We ended that crap after FDR abused that privilege.

My only experience with Russians was a Soviet bomber flying over the ship, bomb bays open with a full load out, when we were in the Sea of Japan and a couple of local thugs that were adopted as toddlers when the the Soviet Union fell.
