Has Ruger gone out of biddness?

Hostile takeover of Ruger by Beretta. Beretta will be involved, could be good, could be bad, but it will change. An Official Journal Of The NRA | Beretta Holding and Ruger Agree to Partnership
Damnit, so many Rugers I would like to have.

Prices are probably gonna explode.

Nice.

I never had a hammerless, so I'm leaning more towards one of those.

I mean. Like, if I EVER want to carry anything.
Do you mean a "hammerless" striker fired semi-auto, or a revolver with an internal hammer? The SP101 is a revolver, available with the hammer external or internal (bobbed) so it doesn't snag your skin or clothes. I personally prefer revolvers with external non-bobbed hammers. I like the ability to shoot single-action if I want.

Internal.

When it's revolvers, around here, if it's internal, it's "hammerless."

Obviously, the hammer is in there somewhere.

We call the "bobbed" ones "semi hammerless."

Regional dialects. LOL.

The only one I ever liked is a Ruger LCR as far as a internal hammer revolver goes. I like the option to cock the hammer.

I had a 3" DA only Ruger Speed Six in .357 back in the day (bobbed hammer) but I switched it out for a normal hammer.....Talk about a super easy revolver to work on!

I remember Speed Six being talked about quite a bit.

No idea why, but you reminded me of a small stainless pocket gun made by AMT. I can't remember if it was DA only or what it was.

Never found another one like it again.
It looked pretty well made.

Gonna try Google Again.

Edit: Found one close enough.

DA/SA no external decocker.

1srelluc I remember thinking it was either DA only, or it seems like the clerk said 1st shot was DA and all the remaining shots would be auto. Have you ever heard of any guns that do that?

In my opinion, DA on the first and auto thereafter would be awesome for safety.

Hostile takeover of Ruger by Beretta.
Nonsense.

‘The shared agreement will allow Beretta to increase its ownership of Ruger to up to 25 percent of the company’s outstanding shares (NYSE: RGR). According to the press release, the minimum partial tender offer price shall be $44.80 per share in cash.

Beretta had been promoting four individuals for seats on the Ruger board. But, according to this agreement, Beretta will “nominate up to two independent directors following the 2026 Annual Meeting of Shareholders and regulatory approval. At that time, the Company will temporarily expand the Board. The nominees will be subject to Ruger’s Nominating and Governance Committee process and qualification criteria.”’

A 25 percent ownership of shares is not a ‘takeover’ – hostile or otherwise.

There won’t be any changes to Ruger’s firearm offerings – just as the creation of the Colt CZ Group was the best thing to happen to Colt in a long time, particularly with regard to Colt revolvers.

I had a couple of 10-22 but never could get one to group. Had a 77 in .257 roberts that was a nail driver and a security 6 that was a shooter. I wish I had the 77 back and a single six that went somewhere.

It's hard to keep up with businesses now, especially firearms and ammo manufacturers. I think Smith is leaving Mass and going somewhere, and no one knows who owns Remington or marlin anymore. I really felt bad in 64 when Winchester stopped making the good stuff, but there were some on the shelves for a short time after. I had a mod 12 in 16 gauge that I bought when I was 15, and a couple of those pump hammer .22s, so I was oh then and there was still plenty of places to hunt. Marlin and Ithaca have regrouped, that's good to see, so I guess nothing can be expected to last forever. Browning has been making stuff in Japan forever, but they seem to work. I still have a superposed in 12 with 2 sets of barrels from Belgium, and maybe I'll get out and shoot some doves with it this fall.
