Russian Military Strategy: Send in the Conscripts First?

It looks like the initial wave of soldiers into Ukraine were the untrained conscripts, Putin keeping his more seasoned troops in reserve. Is this Putin's military strategy? The reason I ask is it is the opposite of Soviet strategy when entering Germany in 1945, when Stalin would send in his most seasoned and professional troops first, to calm the populace, and then the less professional Red Army would enter and occupy the cities and the mass rapes would begin.

If this is Putin's military strategy, it would explain why the invasion moved so slowly at the beginning, versus the narrative of stiff Ukrainian resistance.

Mushroom?
Are you an idiot? That would be like us sending in democrats first - then the real fighters. What's the point?
I can't believe you were braindead enough to actually start a thread on this stupid-ass premise.
What a dumbass.

By the way, until recently, the same thing happened in Europe. Now they have begun to abolish compulsory military service everywhere.

I don’t really understand who they are going to expose as members of the NATO army. There is no professional army there either, and if there is, it is in its infancy. Apparently they are counting on "American meat"

And in Ukraine everything is the same. There really are some semi-Nazi parts of volunteers, but this is also nothing more than amateur performance. People just know how to hold a machine gun and yell when they run, nothing more.

In general, America is a highly militarized country. There is not a single country in the world that could be comparable to the United States in terms of military power and professionalism, these are selected personnel, and fantastic funding, fantastic technical equipment. Comparing the US military to any other country is simply ridiculous. No one would have resisted the United States in a non-nuclear war. That one aircraft carrier is worth more than the entire fleet of some kind of Korea.

In the US, even the police and firefighters are trained and equipped at the level of elite military third countries.

The United States defeated Iraq in fact in one day. This is what they are capable of if they really want to do something.

But I think that the left does not need this army, they will destroy it. The left is afraid of a rebellion on the part of a competent army leadership. In the USSR, they destroyed Tukhachevsky's army on the eve of the war. Any totalitarian state needs a blind army controlled by a non-military administration (commissar army). This type of army does not even give military specialists the right to strategic command.

This is an absolute laughable lie. On the eve of the war, the Stalin-Kaganovich group completely destroyed the professional army of the USSR, the army of Tukhachevsky. All military specialists were shot.
This is one of the reasons for the colossal casualties and losses of the first phase of the Great Patriotic War until about 1942.

For example, in a tank battle near Dubno, they lost half of their tank arsenal with a tenfold advantage in armored vehicles.

In about a year, in the southern and central directions, Germany occupied almost the entire European part of the country, they reached the Volga, beyond which there was already Asia.

They almost fulfilled their plan for a lightning operation.

Probably they were also stopped by the split between the Wehrmacht and the SS, and not only by Stalin's resistance, but in the Red Army in the 43rd year reforms were carried out and the officer command was partially restored, it was from that moment that a massive counteroffensive began, to which the allies soon joined.

That is, all the facts say the exact opposite of what you say.

It's just stupid.

The truth is, Russia is a military that is almost completely unseasoned forces.

The last time they were in a prolonged war ended way back in 1989. Since then they have only had a handful of border clashes and short invasions that only used a fraction of their military.

The last time they had any sizeable military engagement of note was over 30 years ago. And most of those who served in that conflict are long out of the military and civilians, it is their children that are fighting now.

And that is not unique, the US was in a similar position in 1990 when it sent forces to kick Iraq out of Kuwait. That was 17 years after the last major war the US had been involved in, and only the most senior had seen service before. I know my Regimental Commander saw service in Vietnam as a Captain. He was a legend though for an exploit at a bridge, but I think in my Battalion only a single First Sergeant and Gunnery Sergeant had seen combat (one in Vietnam, the other in Grenada).

But when you have an entire generation of military with no combat experience, they will never perform anywhere near as good as blooded forces. And the longer the gap is, the higher up the chain of command that inexperience runs.

You're delusional. The Kuwaiti operation was carried out brilliantly, this is generally a model of perfection. The US has had a professional army since the days of Nixon.

Are you sure you're in the military? Maybe you dreamed it?

A desert storm decided the entire outcome of the war in several days
It was probably the shortest war in history.

You are a fucking nerd, not a military man

IVAN GO HOME WE DONT HAVE FREE VODKA FOR YOU
Did you study geography at school? The Old Russian state and Muscovite Russia is historical Lithuania. Why are you dumping your Ivan-foolish paraphernalia on the Russians. Is it not your forests and swamps with bears? Isn't it your trees from which weave bast shoes? Did the steppe Golden Horde ever have bast shoes and swamps? It is your Johans who are most prone to drinking alcohol, it is in the Baltic States and Finland that alcoholism is declared a national problem. It was the Litvins who were beaten by the Polish hussars when they liberated the Russian lands from Ivan the Terrible. It was about you that they wrote that your knyazes are perpetrating slavery.

Look moron, where was Russia.

You were called Varangians and Nemeti, because thieves and robbers lived in your forests, the word Nemeti came from your Neman. It was you who were called Russians.

And Polish, inсluding Ukrainians was your enemies.
This is precisely the reason that in the Slavic languages your ethnonyms have a humiliating connotation. You are still called Russians in Scandinavia, and Belarus (part of historical Lithuania) is called Baltokrivia, don’t you know that?

Have you ever been to Russia? Where did you see the "Russian forest" and the "Russian bear" south of Moscow? In Samara or Volgograd, have you seen a lot of bears and birches?

Your culture is primordially Russian. Your Baltic languages spread exactly as far as Moscow, there was a Golyad dialect of Baltic. In Belarus there was the Dneprooksky dialect of the Baltic. Later these lands were Slavicized. The original Russian culture is the Baltic culture.

And Ukrainians are historically not your brothers, they were divided from the Poles about 200 years ago, they are the Polish people. And the Russians, starting from Moscow to the southeast, are also primordial Poles - these are Vyatichi and Radimichi.

So leave your vodka and balalayka for your Johans

The Bolsheviks also from your lands. During the civil war, they spent 2 campaigns with the Don, in the first campaign they were thrown out of the Don, Tukhachevsky wrote about this.

This is what this romance is about.
