At a glacial pace that embarrasses Putin and depletes his resources.

Thanks to western support.

A glacial pace they seem perfectly willing to continue.

Static warfare has a habit of breaking quickly once one side reaches the end of its tether.

And Ukraine losing in that way will be almost entirely on Putin's useful idiot named Trump.

Well, if we get a deal now, Ukraine gets to keep most of Ukraine. Isn't that better than losing territory at a gllacial pace until, in the end, there is no Ukraine left at all?

Well, if we get a deal now, Ukraine gets to keep most of Ukraine.

There is no deal like that, because that implies some sort of real security guarantees.

There have been none agreed to by Putin and publicized deal expressly forbids NATO troops from protecting Ukraine.

I've got a real crazy idea for you - how about simply looking it up?

In an article titled What’s Happening in Donetsk Oblast While Trump and Putin Push Ukraine Toward 'Peace’, said Pokrovsk is "largely lost." The entire section below the railway that bisects the city is under Russian control, the report said.

Ukrainska Pravda said the General Staff's map for the Pokrovsk sector "lags reality by at least a month."

This is what reporting looks like in developed democratic world, compared to the never ending propaganda from your Putin Vision.
When someone mentions "democracy" I'm involuntarily groping for my proverbial Mauser.

And Ukraine losing in that way will be almost entirely on Putin's useful idiot named Trump.

LOL, not even close. Biden was President for most of the war, not Trump.

The standard progressive "throw money at the problem" trope doesn't work in this case, like it doesn't work in most cases.

The only way to restore Ukraine to its 2014 borders (As a reminder Crimea was lost under Obama) would be around 5 NATO grade mechanized Corps, 500-1000 NATO aircraft, and a full Naval blockade or Russia to take back the ground, then 10-12 Infantry Divisions to hold it.

Is that what you propose?

When someone mentions "democracy" I'm involuntarily groping for my proverbial Mauser.

Brainwashed people living under autocratic rule often say things like that.

They are carefully trained to accept and even celebrate their oppressive regime as superior to open democratic societies.

Here's the problem with that argument. Kazakhstan also gave up its nukes. They also have a large ethnic Russian population (14.6% Russian vs. 17% in the Ukraine before the wars started.)

Yet you don't see Russia threatening Kazakstan. Why do you think that is?

Belarus also returned the USSR's nukes to Russia.

The difference is that Kazakhstan and Belarus aren't intentionally doing things to antagonize Russia. Ukraine is.
Suddenly it came to me. Joe the non-Republican actually believes
Putin is not bombing Ukraine at all. That it is Zelensky who started bombing Russia 4 years ago; Today Zelensky is really bombing Russia and has severely damaged oil production in Russia.

More on Russia selling it's gold to pay for war

Pokrovsk is "largely lost."
Really? How come Z just a week ago was blabbering that there were only 60 Russians whom they were about to push out? I don't think he looks at the maps lagging behind, he's got Generals to hear from the horse's mouth, hasn't he?

Dummy, that's just another Kremlin's euphenism for invasion.

RF soldiers left their Sevastopol base premises, directly violating terms of lease with Ukraine and Ukraine's sovern borders.

They then rolled on to block small Ukraine millitary force, capture Crimean parlament and put a RF flag on it.

If thats not Russian troops in Ukraine then the word has no meaning.
All bets were off when the Coup Regime took over, what did you expect Russia to give the keys to Sevastopol to Nato? i read somewhere the US had a troop landing ship in the area with Marines on board, good job they didn't do something stupid at the time.

And he supported and provided military aid to Ukraine since the full scale invasion began.

Maybe you forgot how Russians were ran out of Kiev, Kherson and Kharkiv regions, giving up half of the territories they occupied when invasion started. American military aid had a direct contribution to that.

Trump on the other hand stopped all that aid, clearly undermining Ukraine's defense. If Ukraine is to lose this war then history will deservingly blame it on Trump first and foremost.

The Ukrainians were bombing civilians in Donbass back in 2014 that's why the people there wanted out.

Just enough to let them lose slowly over the past 4 years.

And now The Russians just continue to keep taking the territories they would demand in any settlement.

Ukraine continues to get aid from the US.

Fact Check: How have US military aid commitments to Ukraine change...

Public announcements through mid‑2025 included specific Presidential Drawdown Authority packages: for example, a $225 million package announced in May 2025 reportedly included a Patriot battery, NASAMS munitions, Stinger missiles, HIMARS ammunition, 155mm and 105mm artillery rounds, Javelin and AT‑4 anti‑armor systems, demolitions and small arms ammunition [4].
