Washington — Jury selection is expected to begin Monday in a high-profile defamation lawsuit against former Trump attorney Rudy Giuliani, tied to his alleged efforts to undermine the results of the 2020 presidential election in Georgia.

The former New York City mayor was sued by two former Fulton County, Georgia, election workers, Ruby Freeman and her daughter, Wandrea ArShaye "Shaye" Moss. They alleged Giuliani mounted a smear campaign against them by repeatedly falsely accusing them of committing election fraud to change the outcome of the 2020 election in their state. They're seeking from $15.5 million to $43 million for damages from Giuliani, according to recent court filings, but it's not clear yet what the jury will award them.

U.S. District Judge Beryl Howell already found earlier this year that Giuliani was liable for several claims of defamation, intentional infliction of emotional distress and civil conspiracy. The jury trial that begins Monday will determine the damages to be awarded to Freeman and Moss.

That's going to fail bigly as there's evidence going around today that will prove that's garbage.

rudy has prove d to be so thoroughly corrupt that gotti's trial should be appealed. rudy is too stupid to convict a real mafioso, so he must have faked evidence .

The two election workers defamed by Mad Rudy will find out how much the Big Liar owes them this week. The jury is being seated today.

In August, Giuliani was found liable for defaming the two women. The jury of eight DC residents will determine this week his punishment. He may have to shell out up to $43 million.

The trial is scheduled for four days. So we will know by Thursday.

Crime does not pay. Nor does lying at Donald Trump's bidding.

August:

Judge rules Rudy Giuliani has forfeited election defamation case

The ruling could add to Giuliani's ballooning legal fees — and comes after he was indicted in Fulton County alongside former President Trump over his alleged efforts to flip 2020 election results.

U.S. District Court Judge Beryl Howell wrote that Giuliani failed to produce relevant records and evidence sought by Freeman and Moss in the case.

  • Howell also ordered Giuliani to pay punitive damages to Freeman and Moss for not turning over the evidence in a timely manner.
  • "Just as taking shortcuts to win an election carries risks — even potential criminal liability — bypassing the discovery process carries serious sanctions," Howell wrote.

The case is rubbish.

The election workers suffered Zero damages, even if you assume that Rudy has no right to free speech and was "defaming them".

In fact they became heroes to the Far Left by rigging the election, and Rudy's observations helped to raise their stature.

This is just another tactic by the left to try and criminalize opposition to their extremism.
