Rubio's Press Conference

Kasich was my first choice at that time too.
But then I learned more about him, including his lack of courage for not even showing up at the GOP Convention in Cleveland in 2016 and I have a real personal axe to grind with him too regarding a former employer that I won't go into.
Now I think he's a phony dick who ran to CNN to complain and whine about Trump. I know people who know him personally and not one of them likes him. He's an arrogant jackass.
You mean Kasich didn't show up to circle jerk Dopetard in 2016 like poor L'il Marco did along with the rest of the gutless cowards.

Were you there to join in the fun? :113:

You were a democrat, then?
No.
I've always been a Republican except for a very brief flirtation with George McGovern during the Vietnam War.
Kasich was a Republican. He was my Congressman and then my Governor.
I liked him and voted for him many times.
I wouldn't vote for him to run my HOA now.

He admitted on national tv that with his views he was in the wrong party.

Reich Minister of Public Enlightenment and Propaganda Karoline Leavitt, 28 years old, is on maternity leave with her 60 year old husband, so Little Marco Rubio stood in today for a White House press briefing.

The difference was incredible. The man is erudite, concise, and very well informed. He has all the qualities I admired when he ran for president in 2016. He does not prevaricate, evade, or insult. He does not wear a sacrilegious cross around his neck. He does not answer questions by misdirecting to entirely unrelated issues or attacks.

I was sorely disappointed, and still am, that the man bowed down before the "demonic force" (Tucker Carlson's apt description) and is serving the most corrupt, incompetent, and disastrous administration in US history.

However, I would NOT be disappointed if Rubio was our next president.

Rubio charmed the media, and his eloquence and actual knowledge were a stark contrast to that of his boss.

Of course, I have a few disagreements with some of the spin he put on the war in Iran. But he's not about to piss off the boss.

One of the saddest moments was when Rubio claimed this administration cares about the people of Iran and that they are doing the people a favor.

That's exactly what our government said about the people of Iraq when we invaded their country. How'd that work out for them?

I'm sure the people of Iran aren't buying that bullshit. The Revolutionary Guard are going to make their lives even harder.

Rubio also claimed we were doing the world a favor, and then schizophrenically mentioned how much better off we are from the fallout of the war than the rest of the world.

OP link doesn't even load, dorkle. :rolleyes-41:

He's an arrogant jackass.
Says the Trump cultist.

You don't even know how hilariously ironic you sound, do you.

All that matters is the federal debt. That is the single greatest threat to our democracy.

Not pronouns. Not brown people. Not Iranians or Muslims.

The debt.

And Kasich knows how to eliminate the debt.

Nope. You will just end up with a military coup and an IRGC strongman as the leader of Iran.

Then Trump will fall in love with him. Because Trump loves strongmen. Really, really loves them.
That makes no sense. Leaving the Iranian people unarmed is what will INSURE the IRGC takes full control. The IRGC ranks are already dwindling and weakened due to defections and lack of pay. ARM THE PEOPLE they outnumber the IRGC by 500 to 1.

You probably already know this, but G is a total phony, and retarded.

Trump never got more than a third of the GOP primary votes in 2016. The problem is that there were too many other candidates. 18 of them. Most were in it as a vanity project and I blame those assholes for Trump's success.

However, any one of them would have been a far, far, far superior president than Trump.

My first choice was John Kasich. He was the architect of the federal balanced budget in the 1990s. He then went on as governor of Ohio to take that state's budget from a deficit to a surplus.

The federal debt has always been my number one priority and the only actual existential threat to our democracy.

Rubio was my second choice. He caught my attention with a white paper he wrote about the corporate tax code.

Thank goodness for the Internet Archive. That white paper is here: http://www.rubio.senate.gov/public/...?File_id=2d839ff1-f995-427a-86e9-267365609942

Not that Rubio would succeed in his plan he outlines there. Deven Nunes tried and failed. But as President, Rubio just might succeed in reforming the tax code the right way.

And the right way is to eliminate or ban tax expenditures. That's was Nunes's plan, and that is Rubio's plan.
I pegged Kasich as an arrogant asshole early in his career. He is still the same. But, I will give him props for the balanced budget in OH, despite the way he got there. Fiscal restraint will be a very large component of our National recovery. Apart from that, he brought nothing to the national stage.

As of early May 2026, President Donald Trump has expressed significant frustration regarding U.S. weapons intended for Iranian protesters that went missing, with accusations that Kurdish groups in northern Iraq kept them instead. [1, 2]
Here are the key details based on reports as of May 5, 2026:
  • The Situation: Trump indicated that the U.S. sent a "small amount" of guns to Kurdish groups in northern Iraq for distribution to anti-regime protesters inside Iran, but stated, "The Kurds did not deliver the weapons," and he is "not thrilled" with the outcome.
  • The Reaction: During a White House event on April 6, 2026, Trump stated he was "very upset with a certain group of people," warning that those who kept the weapons "will pay a big price".
  • Controversy and Denials: Kurdish leaders have denied these claims, stating that no such weapons were received, and warned that these allegations could make them targets for retaliation.
  • Context of the War: The incident is part of a broader conflict involving U.S.-Iran tensions. Reports suggest the U.S. military has faced challenges with equipment accountability during this period, with some reports detailing massive losses of high-tech military gear. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6]

You seem to be under the impression the entire population is against the regime.

Wrong.

If you look at ANY oppressive regime in history, you will find it only takes a very tiny minority to control the population.

About 10 percent is all it takes.

Remember when Bush was going to "liberate" Iraq? How'd that work out?
