While I gaze across the posts on USMB and read all these people claiming to be successful, very wealthy, employers that believe employees should make more and tell me they pay theirs superior wages and benefits, I've never been coy about telling people who I really am, and in fact proud to say I was a truck driver. However I've never been more proud to say it with the leadership of my brothers and sisters in Canada.

When government shuts down, hardly anybody notices. In fact it's to our benefit when they do. When unions lead their members to strike, only a handful of people are affected. But when the wheels of our trucks come to a screeching halt, so does the country.

The Canadian government (and ours even more) have to realize that when people have had enough, they've had enough. While our drivers are still on the road, more and more leave the industry all the time, and less and less people to replace us. In fact today the US is short over 11,000 drivers. It's predicted by industry leaders this is just the start as more and more of us baby boomers retire.

The Canadian government now realizes they may have went too far, and I hope our government is paying attention.

The problem is that you didn't frame your thread in a way that would stimulate any kind of meaningful, fruitful discussion.

So what did you really expect?

I'd already had a thread about this, a bit deeper and more relevant to scope, and framed in a way as to stimulate and expand meaningful discussion on the issue but it is actually pretty interesting that folks do tend to prefer this level of dialogue exchange.

Again all those truckers, warehouse workers, medical professionals, grocery employees that FOUGHT AND DIED thru the worst of the pandemic and were hailed as HEROES -- are now zeroes.

Your govt would NEVER RECOGNIZED "natural immunity" as immunity which is a BASIC violation of epidemiology and only NOW does your anti-science govt LEAK out the news that natural immunity for the OMICRON strain is many more times effective than 2 shots and a booster. Was never about the Vaxxed vs UNvaxxed. It was ALWAYS about the IMMUNE vs the UNimmune.

MANY of those heroes got hefty immunity from GETTING the worst types of Covid while DOING that job. And NOW -- the Dems and leftists of the Woking Dead are marginalizing and SLIMING them as "fringe" and "domestic threats".

So you can BE one of those brave people AND be totally vaxxed and JOIN with those comrades who are not vaxxed in PROTEST -- because it OFFENDS YOU that they are being scapegoated.

They are PROTESTING the MISINFORMATION and selective reading of science. And the fact that dick-tators will go to use of force as a 1st response to dissent. That's why those "Woking Dead" would-be dictators MADE THIS about "freedom" and NOT just the mandates.
