Do you know how few teacher unions have the right to strike in this country? What will they do if their demands are not met?
Before COVID, no teacher's union would dare get involved in the day-to-day decisions regarding what was actually taught. Teachers are often solicited for advice, but that is outside the union environment, as it should be. I was a union member in a few of my districts and not a member in many more. Not once did my unions ever try to provide input into curriculum decisions, even when I was a school administrator.
