They also practice scorched Earth policies to deprive Northern soldiers of any food or shelter as a progressed further south. Southerners robbed and burned small towns in an effort to terrorize civilians. People are people, it's easy to be good to one another and be at our best at times of peace, not so easy at times of war and stress. There's nothing romantic about war on either side. It is barbaric and it shows how uncivilized we still are.

They should have saved all those statues and put them in a museum about the civil war, dependent on when and why, the reason it was built in the first place. It was meant to intimidate blacks after the civil war to keep them in their place and remind them of their place in society, then it should be put in a museum about the Confederacy, paid for by people who support such contemptuous views and definitely not text dollars.
